I'm really trying to stay away from personalized candles & things. They always look so cute but so many people say they go home and think "what the heck am i gonna do with this?" I want to do something that everyone will enjoy. We had originally thought about cookies (homemade) but we don't want to be worrying about baking cookies 2 days before the wedding! I would love to see your favors or your inspirations!
Thanks Ladies :)
We've decided to do a dessert hour closer to the end and people will be able to take whatever they like in favor boxes.
Chocolates from Laura Secord

We are doing mason jar glasses!! That way they can use them during the reception and then take them home! It's all part of our theme :]
We got a great deal on choco covered strawberries from the guy we are getting our cake from and we are giving everyone 2 (a little tux and a little bride )
we are combining our escort cards/favors into one...One of the Bee's blogged and posted this picture (I don't remember which Bee) and I already had the picture and inspiration and had begun my paper search....We're marrying on Halloween so we wanted to do something candy related w/out having a candy buffet. These are quite inexpensive and it is something I can DIY, haahaahaahaaa

I'm making homemade chocolate and putting them in a cute box that I will be decorating. There will be a thank you note from my FI and I on the inside of the top of the box (so you'll see it when you open it). The benefit of chocolate over cookies is that you can make them a little more ahead of time :-)
I actually just posted a DIY tutorial for the Hot Cocoa Cones we made!
We are having personalized fortune cookies from a friends coffee shop and personalized guitar picks. Found them online for about $75 for 144 picks. My sweetie plays guitar so it is fitting.
I made a donation to the ASPCA. But I had been considering giving little chocolates. Gotta love edible favors.
thanks everyone! yall have such great ideas! im too indecisive and i just really love so many ideas! i thought about a candy bar but ive heard it gets expensive. thanks for sharing
keep the ideas coming :)
We're having a photobooth, and I made envelopes to encourage guests to take pictures home as their gifts. It will be a good keepsake of the evening for them and for us since we get a copy of the pictures too.
My personal preference for favors was to do something useful or edible. To go with our theme, I ordered Japanese kit kats on Ebay and wrapped them with paper, tied with string, and decorated with a monogrammed tag.
The flavors are Milk Tea, Sour Orange, Banana, Strawberry, Pudding, Salt Caramel. I think it'll be unique and tasty!

@jesstagirl - i just commented on your dyi but i forgot to ask...did you make you own tags? i love your whole idea and the tags are too cute (:
@Mrs. Menard - I did make the tags! I made them on Word and it took and entire day (I'm not great at designing stuff), but the tags are one of my favorite aspects of the whole thing! Thanks for noticing and commenting :)
We're having a candy buffet, with little takeout boxes for people to fill up with candy as their favor.
@jesstagirl - youre very welcome! i do love them!
@blueshoes - i really want to do the take out boxes if we do the candy bar or the cookies! i think they turn out so great :)
@Mrs.Menard: If you decide to go with the take out boxes, check out www.papermart.com. We got tons of plain, white take out boxes for sooo cheap!
@blueshoes - thanks! ill have to check into them! i think the cheapest ive found so far are from save-on-crafts.com and they're .25 a piece. thanks again!
We're doing homemade cookies, but I didn't want to be baking 2 days before either, so I'm going to make them the month before and freeze them. I found the cutest wedding cake shaped cookie cutter online!
we are going to do a candy buffet and place a cookie at each setting, i'm having my bridesmaids help with the cookies so it won't take so long! These are my inspiration pictures
i know i want to do something edible ( as a guest, thats always my fav favor! ).... i like nice chocolates or a humungo chocolate covered strawberry in a cute box.
:D yum!
@nicole- those buffet pics are so lovely!!!!!!!
@jesstagirl- oooo i just saw your cocoa post!! i love this idea....hmmmmmmmm..i may change my chocolates......
also check out these brownie pops! I've seen the same thing done with strawberries (tuxedos and dresses) and they're amazing
My original plan was to not do any favors at all, and I may stick with that. But if I do anything, it will be a Mix CD of songs from the wedding and songs that have meaning for my FI and I. In the CD envelope, we would put liner notes explaining the significance of each song. That way, at least people have something to listen to on the ride home.
I'm stealing an idea from one of my bridesmaid's wedding - we're doing favor boxes with Hershey Hugs & Kisses inside, with a tag on the box that says "Hugs and Kisses from the Mr. & Mrs"! We wanted to do candy, and I thought this was too cute to pass up :-)
We're donig a candy/dessert bar, but I was thinking about you wanting to do cookies. You can make most cookies up to 3 months ahead of time and just freeze them. That's what I do for X-Mas and what I'm planning on doing for the wedding for any cakes/cupcakes/petit fours/cookies etc that we end up doing.
We're both Italian so we're doing the traditional 5 candied almonds (each represents a wish for the bride and groom) wrapped in tulle or boxes and including this poem that explains them:
Five sugared almonds for each guest to eat
To remind us that life is both bitter and sweet.
Five wishes for the new husband and wife:
Health, Wealth, Happiness, Children, and a long life!
i love everyone's ideas!!
@nicole18ashley - i love your candy buffet inspirations! especially the sign! and those brownie pops are amazing! yummmmmy!
@msterrapin - i would love to do the cds! i think its a neat way to hear fun facts about the couple. but idk how much i want to burn 200 cds =/
@amanda.lynn - that is soooo cute! i love hershey hugs! theyre my favorite! & i love that little saying (:
@toffee - we really wanted fresh cookies. i dont really know why it mattered though. nobody would know the difference anyway..or care. haha we shall see (:
were having mini playing cards :D and going to wrap them in some funky orange paper :) I always liked a favor that you can take home and may just be a little useful, but then also I like the edible ones too!

Lip balm from a local company - made of beeswax and other natural oils, with custom labels. Everyone uses lip balm!
I love the lip balm idea. We're just doing candy dishes on each table. Haven't had time to go to Sam's Club yet though.
@ccrane - i would definitely take those cards on trips!
@rachelss - lip balm is an amazing favor!
What about chocolate sea shells placed in a crisp cello bag tied with raffia! Each bag contains 1, 3" shell (starfish or sand dollar) and 3, .75-1" shells, edible pearls and edible sand (raw sugar). The starfish have a pearl in the center, and all the shells are dusted with luster dust! Perfect for beach theme wedding favors and travel well for destination weddings!
I have all kinds of Chocolate Sea Shell favors, cake decorating sea shell kits, edible sea shell centerpieces and lots lots more!!
