I bought lots and lots of colored glassware and lanterns from antique stores. I am growing most of the flowers in my backyard and greenhouse..these are only mock-ups. We are having a shabby/chic wedding and our colors are jewel tones. Bridesmaid dresses are violet. :)
Mine aren't really "fall-y". I bought three large vases and three 9 hr burning floating candles. There is scatter and pink rose petals around. The first pic is one we took at home without the scatter. The second one was a mock up at our venue. The cloth under our centrepieces will be brown (the pic has red). And our napkins will be brown aswell.
I also am looking into buying voltive candles and taking away the coffee cups from the tables because it looks way too busy!
We’re alternating floral and non-floral. The floral will be hollowed out large white gourds (which I always thought were pumpkins until like a week ago) with a fall floral arrangement inside surrounded by votives…

And the non-floral will be various glassware with candles, leaves & fake berries. Each will be a variation of this pic…

I am going to do two different centerpieces. One, I am doing tissue paper flowers and putting into a styrofoam wreath and then it will surround a vase that will be filled with water and a tea light on top. not sure about my other one just yet. I may do a topiary with a tissue paper pomander or maybe do something with mason jars and some blooms. i am going for simple.
@UpstateCait: I really like the flowers in the pumpkin! I think that is such a neat look and perfect for your fall theme wedding.
simple, modern, 10" black lanterns. I'm also doing orange tissue pom-pom napkin rings at each place setting, and silver chair sashes to complete the look.
I'm going to be pretty simple...
the venue provides a mirror and candle in a hurricane vase. I'm going to use that for about half the tables, and sprinkle petals on the mirror for some color. For the other tables, I'm going to use the mirror, and put a vase with a small sunflower (from the ceremony decorations,) in water.
this is what we'll be doing, except i think we're going to have red mokara with or instead of the berries (hopefully with) and the peonies will be garden roses and dahlias. red tea leaves will hide the stems as well.

My centerpieces are nowhere near fall as I'm having a peacock themed wedding. My tall centerpiece is this:

My short centerpiece is this:

These are the inspiration photos that my florist is working off of. We are using a single loooooong table to seat everyone, so we are using 3' long mirrors as a continuous runner down the center of the table with 75+ candles of varying heights and 8-10 all white floral displays on top of the mirror runner.

these are what i am doing. this is my inspiration picture, and just today i have filled my cages with ivory roses with diamante centres, and ivy. i also have the pearls to drape over them too. i havent photographed them yet . i am also having the little photo frames with numbers too

these are the ones i made on the bottom pic
but i'm not sure wether to use numbers or names (like in the 1st picture above) so i made these in photoshop in case i want to go with the names

Our wedding is two days from Halloween, so we're simply trucking up to a pumpkin farm a few days before the wedding, buying cute small pumpkins and gourds, and using an array of those as centerpieces. Dead easy.
we are doing glass bowls with orange candles and cranberries... on chocolate brown linens... gold chargers I think...
We are doing curly willow tree branches in a vase from Dollar Tree. We are putting black stones at the bottom of the vase and tying a ribbon around the vase. The centerpiece will be on a square mirror with votive candles surrounding it. I will post pics once I have one made up!
our venue provides them with our package. They are floating candles with pretty little sparklies in the vases, on the beveled mirrors and i purchased extra crystal thingys in our colors to scatter around. Cant beat FREE!
I'm using these lanterns from Ikea...

with a white pillar candle inside, four tealights surrounding it, and red rose petals sprinkled around.
Mine are rustic but this pic doesn't have my chages the small jar has a chalkboard sticker for the #s and the pic frame is no longer on the table and there is a green ribbon tied on the top of the medium jar.
@chittychittybanebane: I really like your use of the colored glass - I'm basically doing the same idea as you - combining vintage elements and jewel tones. I've started to collect colored glass vases in assorted shapes and sizes. Right now I've only gotten cobalt blues, aquas and greens.
I'm wondering if I should keep getting more varied colored glass (like some purples, fuchsias and maybe even teal or red?) and then keep the flowers more unified by just doing ivory or if I should just use the blue and green vases and then add more of the jewel tone colors through colorful flower arrangements?
I am aiming to use a lot of color, like sapphire, emerald, pearl, ruby, amethyst, pink and platinum - but I don't want it to look like too chaotic so I'm trying to just focus on a few and use the rest as little accents, like diamond confetti or little sprigs of color as vase fillers. Any ideas are greatly appreciated!
