We have to leave the house by 8:30 to pick up DH's parents from the airport and probably wont be home until about 10:30-11ish. We normally eat dinner around 9-10pm (I know we eat super late!) There are some things I want to make for dinner but Im not sure what we will end up doing.
What is everyone here having for dinner?
I'm going to my Oma's for dinner tonight to celebrate my sister's birthday. I always leave her house 5lbs heavier lol.
We're having a traditional german meal: Rouladen, Spaetzle, red cabbage & dumplings!
Macaroni and Cheese with cut up hot dogs...what can I say? we're a couple of broke college students-this meal gives us starches and protein
Not sure what I'm making but it will probably be something quick and fast being that I have RCIA class tonight!
LOL I actually just posted about this on another thread!
But, I'm actually doing a little more then usual for dinner tonight because we have the holiday off tomorrow, yeah! So I'm making pistachio crusted chicken w/ a raspberry sauce, mashed potatoes, green beans, and garlic bread, and white wine of course :)
@Frugalista: I feel like I'm in the twilight zone, because just yesterday I was talking to my friend about meals we used to eat that are awesome, and mine was mac and cheese w/ cut up hot dogs! Don't know why but I'm salvating right now just thinking about it, lol!
I had a grilled ham and cheese wrap... and mushroom soup!
We’re having what we have termed “creamy, spicy pasta”.
Just take a good spicy Arabbiata sauce, add a splash of red wine. Cook up some spicy Italian sausages and pancetta, then cook up some sweet onions and garlic and add all that to the pasta sauce. (you can also just use whatever left-over type meat you have around - chicken works well, steaks fine, etc.)
At the very end, after you’ve turned the heat off under the sauce, and added the pasta, fold in a few large spoonfuls of fat free Greek Yogurt (we like Brown Cow brand the best). Usually works best with a penne or rotini type of pasta.
I made Green Chicken Curry last night using this recipe, and it turned out great!

Not sure what I'm going to make tonight though yet.
I'm so embaressed. Why couldn't anyone ask this the other night when I made cheesy chicken enchiladas? lol. Tonight it's Pizza snacks. lol.
That Thai Green Curry Chicken sounds AWESOME!
I don't know what I'm going to have, but I know what I want...
COOKIES.
Too bad cookies would do terrible things to my efforts to become skinny-minnie again. :(
crawfish or shrimp alfredo... something easy.. yesterday was my meatloaf and my Gosh was it yumm.. i'll have to put the recipe in the recipe exchange.
@crebre- I'll be over in 10 minutes. I'll try not to breathe on you to make you sick. I'll take both.
KTHX. :)
@frugalistabride - actually sounds good :) We have something my DH makes called Penny Omelettes that you might like. He takes hot dogs and cuts them into little pieces and cooks them in a frying pan until they get nice golden brown. Then we make scrambled eggs and mix in the hot dogs and add grated cheddar cheese. Very yummy!
@creber - MMMMM..... I love alfredo, its funny I used to make it and it seemed to be so labor intensive to make the sauce. I made it a couple weeks ago and it seemed like it was done in like 5 minutes!
A penny omelette sounds yummy!! I have no idea, I think I may do chicken wings cuz that's whats thawed out in the fridge. I actually should go do that now since they'll take an hour to cook....
Poor college student unemployed graduate too. So a spinach, mushroom, and cheese omelette for dinner.
Oh man you guys have me craving alfredo now!
We're having steak and baked potatoes tonight! Yummm
Cheese covered homemade sweet potato fries and a vegetable omelet. It's what the husbands appetite was craving - and he's cooking so woo hoo.
We're having sushi from the grocery store (and I'm having a bowl of cereal as an appetizer!).
Ha mouse - I thought I as the only one who sometimes did the cereal appetizer. My husband thinks it's nuts.
I'm at a work conference in Mississippi and we're eating at the Paula Deen Restaurant tonight! Can't wait!
We had grilled cheese and tomato soup! I needed some comfort food but I am gonna try to eat better tomorrow!
Now we are drinking some cocktails but with a mix that is no calories ;) that is the best!
@missmouse & bvig
we are having cereal for dinner. its our favorite. he gets frosted flakes, i get cap'n cruch, we both end up full and happy.
I'm making oven roasted pork chops, sauteed green beans and am heating up some leftover chipotle acorn squash. The pork chops are in the oven right now and they smell divine!
@Abilee - Please report back on Paula's restaurant. SHe is a riot and I love watching her. I'm a health nut, so most of the stuff she cooks would be a rare treat around this house or never be made at all, but we let go of the rules when we eat out. Enjoy your dinner.
I gotta figure out what we're having quick. I might need to make a Trader Joe's run!
Since I have been cooking for the past week, FI decided to do all the cooking tonight! :) We are having BBQ chicken on the grill, green beans and scallop potatos. Although, sushi sounds really good right about now...
I was just wondering this myself b/c I'm back on my "no carbs after lunch" plan. I'm thinking of chicken sausage and maybe some asparagus. Not very "sexy" of a meal, but, hopefully eating like this all week will get the scale moving in the right direction again on Monday!
My husband is making grilled sandwiches and veggies as we speak! Ah, bliss...!
Husband made chicken, rice, and brocoli. We've been sick and this is the first "real" meal we've had since Sunday. It was delish!
Because of crebre we will be making chicken fettucini alfredo tonight :)
leftover rotisserie chicken and rice...but the rest of the food I ate today was out of control.
We eat via Trader Joe's about 5/7 nights. Tonight's Trader Joe's selection includes marinated tuna steaks (basically, I pull a pack out of the freezer in the AM, it thaws, we stick it in the over for 15 minutes @ dinner time) and frozen roasted corn (also from TJ).
Done in 15 minutes!
popcorn chicken!!!! didnt feel like cooking tonight... ill be working out extra long in the morning!
Spaghetti squash with Paul Newman marinara sauce and Trader Joes meatless meatballs. FIRST I need to do my 3 mile walk.. in the rain.. BOOOOO!!
I made chicken parm....with breaded homemade fried chicken. Real healthy meal...but so yummy.
I'm reheating some clam chowder we made last night. But, I'm also trying to figure out what to do for dinner tomorrow night so I'll be looking out for some good ideas here!
