I’m trying to figure out the best way to have us mic’d for the ceremony.
I don’t really want the look of a stand mic in all of the photos. However, a sound guy I talked to said that’s the best way to ensure the best sound.
He said wireless mic’s might pick up different frequencies in the room (mostly from cell phones) and could cause issues.
I’d really like to go with a wireless mic – but that makes me wonder – who get’s mic’d? The pastor, Fiance…. I don’t want to wear a mic – will FI’s pick up my voice?
The other option is a hand held mic, but our pastor said it’s really awkward to have the mic and his notes – so, that option is out.
What are you (or what did you) use – and what was your experience and/or logic for doing so.
p.s. ceremony is indoors in a chapel

Our pastor is wearing a wireless mic, he wears it all the time in church. For the readers, they’ll be at a lecturn type thing with an attached mic. And for the musicians, there are stand mics in front of the instrument section.
I’ve heard all 3 in the church service before and they worked just fine. Hope that helps!

@soonerpsych – did the pastor’s wireless pick up you and your husband, when you said your vows?

We’re using a stand because the cost of a wireless was $100 more! No thank you! But we were told if we were going wireless, my Fiance would wear it around his bout to hide the mic and would pick up me and the officiant’s voice though. I would love to have a wireless as well, but I can’t justify a $100 diff for 20 minute usage.
