May 9th. Second sunday of the month every year.

We’re going to the church’s mother-daughter banquet with mothers, grandmothers, and daughters, as is tradition. It’s lots of fun. ๐Ÿ™‚

We’re also doing brunch at a nice restaurant. We went last year and my mom LOVED it, said it was the best Mother’s Day gift, so made the reservations this morning. It will be my mom and dad, me and my FH and my younger brother ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m taking my mom to her first mani pedi (a surprise) then off to brunch with my dad so we can sip on mimosas and eat eggs benedict on pepper scones.

You reminded me of this day, I just made my own post about how idk what to do for my mom this year! I’ve usually given her home-made things involving pictures, & last year I got her a puppy (she wanted one, I didn’t suprise her!).

I’m really stuck on this too – and my problem is that my mom lives a good 10 hours away and I’m not going to be able to go visit her for Mother’s Day. (I will see her the next weekend though, for my sister’s graduation.)

Does anybody have any brilliant ideas about what to do for far-away moms?

We’re atually making the 4 hour trek to boonie-ville to see her. I’m bringing a french cake from a nearby bakery and I picked her up a bottle of specialty pomegranate balsamic vinegar and a bath and body works gift certificate.

Last year I sent mom flowers and truffles. She loves that kind of stuff. Edible Arrangements are nice too. Sure, they’re all cliche, but I know my mom totally digs it =]

Since I live far away from my mom I like to find some sentimental gift for her on Mother’s Day. Last year I had a necklace made on Etsy (Simag) with the names of all 4 of us kids on it. She loved it!

This year I had my sibling send me pics of them in profile and I’m trying to make our sillouettes and frame them. I may even do one of the cat! =)
