Our budget was around $3500 and we did alot of the same cut backs as you. We also didn’t do any favors, no wedding programs, no church decorations, I carried Gerber Daisies that I bought from a local farmers market and tied ribbon around myself. We used my dads truck as our “get-a-way” car and my dad is a photographer so he did ALOT of the photos but something he was looking into to save money was having a local photography student from the local college do the pictures. Usually they will be totally willing since they need to do a portfolio and they will probably be very anxious to get everything just right. So I wouldn’t worry about them doing a bad job or charging hardly anything.

I know I have more ideas! I’ll get back to this thread if I think of more!!! =)

I really wanted them and then when it actually came down to buying the paper, writing them out and printing them, I just didn’t feel it was necessary. No one even noticed. Looking back its not one of my regrets.

instead of programs you could just set up a chalkboard near the entrance to your ceremony site and put all of the info on that. you could then re-use the chalkboard to write your menu on. it’s cheap to diy a chalkboard too — you just need a piece of wood and a can of chalkboard spray paint!

My candy buffet was quite expensive. I suggest that you really add it up to see how much it is actually going to cost you. I had found some cute favors on orientaltrading.com that would have saved us quite a bit money.

Candy buffet things you need: All the containers for the stuff can be outrages depending on what you pick. Then the candy is obviously a cost, the bags or whatever you choose for your guest to use as receptacles, you need scoops, bag ties or seals. I thought it would save me money, but it costs almost $4.50 a person by the time I was done with the purchases.

Umm… I guess it would of been around a $30.00 project. But that depends on how elaborate you wanted your programs to be. I was just going to go to a Hobby Lobby or Michaels and spend around $15.00 on paper, buy some cute ribbon and then print them out at home. Actually, thinking about it, I probably could of just done it for around $20.00-$25.00. That was for about 100 guests. So its not a huge money saver, but I remember when it came down to number crunching that every dollar saved helped us!
