so far, i've gotten him a card...wanna do something little, but haven't quite decided for this year yet.
A card and V-day candy. That's all he wants! Peanut M&Ms and gummy hearts :)
I'd love to get a couples massage for us, but there's the whole "saving for the wedding" thing. lol :)
Probably just me, but i refuse to celebrate this bullsh*t holiday, so we are getting each other a whole bunch of nothing!
Mrs. Spring, I bet he'll appreciate that!
I also bought something for me that will be for him.
It is not very romantic, but I am going to get him a radiator for his car. He really needs and wants one, and I know it will make him very happy.
Nothing but my love! We don't do Valentine's day gifts. I might get him a card but only because I really love buying cards lol.
I'm writing him a love letters that details all my worst flaws, except written in extremely flowery language so they sound better, and I'm going to hide a romantic message within it using steganography. I'd like to deliver it in a special way but I haven't figured that out yet. At the very least I plan on surprising him by waking him up in the morning and making him breakfast or something like that (we don't live together). :)
normally we don't do big valentine's day. but we just got a wii, which he loves, and i happened to walk past the games so i got him the just dance. he wants to dance together.
PEZ! hahaha his favorite... and I will probably make something sappy to give him...
we're skipping presents (aside from a card and maybe some candy) to save for an amazing trip to New Zealand and the Sougth Pacific at the end of this year...an extra night there is worth so much more than roses to me!
I wish I knew. I am reeeally on the fence about today's kid's woot (http://kids.woot.com/), he always talks about hatching a mantis' egg, but I expect it'done of those "oh, you remembered I wanted one... thanks..." type gifts.
Last year I got him an animated wooden dragon, but it has yet to be put together. I can't get him clothing, I got him that for Xmas...
I am making him little cupcakes and putting them in a candy box, so they look like candies. I also framed one of our pictures and got him some cute boxers. I spent maybe $15, which was awesome. Plus a love note <3
I'm not getting him anything. Got him big Christmas and B-day presents in Dec and January, even though we agreed not to do anything big. So this time actually doing what we agreed and not exchanging gifts. We did get a hotel room for the evening as it's our anniversary, so might get some lingerie. I've been meaning to go buy some for weeks, but I have literally been at work morning to night every single day, so we'll see how that works out.
A card, Zombieland on Blu-ray (exciting, right?), and making him a cheesecake.
It might sound unromantic but he desperately needs a good umbrella and has told me he wants a large enough umbreall for the both of us to use when we go on walks. Being that we live on the Hudson where there's lots of wind, the cheap ones we currently own don't stand a chance! I was thinking of getting a nice golf umbrella like this one from Brooks Brothers:
Just a card, and we're going out to dinner that night. We're saving every penny for the wedding.
My parents=) Because it's the long weekend, I invited my parents to come visit and stay with us. FI wasn't exactly thrilled with the news but is being a good sport.
@mlbiaso- They have them at Michael's and at Walmart! They're little cupcakes! I loved the idea, and found that they actually have little baking pans for mini cupcakes! ;] It's fun and something different!
Well he absolutely loves Ralph Lauren Polo so I think a Polo Jacket.
I've just gotten him a personalised card this year, we're not doing presents this year.
@miss chocolate: I love that idea! I actually have a mini cupcake pan already. I've made little cupcakes in mini ice cream cones. So cute.
But, I have never seen the empty v-day boxes before. I am totally going to Michael's this weekend.
Thanks for the great idea!
@mlbiaso- No problem!! I have this awesome cupcake book called Hello, Cupcake! that has been my inspiration for a lot of cool cupcake projects! This one just happened to be in there!
I love the ice cream cone cupcake idea! That is so cute!! I'm a cupcake fanatic!!
We don't really celebrate Valentine's Day because it's a b-s holiday and all of that (::shrug::) so I think I'll probably make him a card and maybe get him some candy because he loves treats. I think we're going to stay in and bake something.
A card, making him some snickers fudge, and taking him to paint pottery.
When I was away in California last weekend, I got him some salted caramels from a chocolate shop that neither of us has tried. I also picked up a copy of Pablo Nerudo's "Intimacies: Poems of Love", a wonderful book of his poetry with lovely watercolor illustrations and both English and Spanish translations. I hope we'll enjoy reading them together and might even find one that we want to use as a wedding reading.
We're also going away for the weekend and staying at a B&B, so that will be a treat for both of us!
He doesn't know that his wedding band has arrived so I am going to surprise him with that. We are spending V day meeting with our officiant and going over the ceremony.
I agree that V day is so commercialized, I prefer a card or a little note in my lunch bag anyday rather than Hallmark telling people to celebrate love.
Absolutely nothing. We don't celebrate the big ole Valentines day. I hated the hype of it so after we got together I made the request "honey lets not celebrate Valentines day". He thought I was joking at first and some women actually tried to tell him that I didn't mean it, but thankfully he knows me best. Works out great for us though as our anniversary is in Feb just after valentines day.
I'm getting him one of the MANY tools he put on our registry (which kills two birds with one stone - getting another godawful tool off of our registry without deleting it AND getting him a something he wants) and probably a little something else. We're trying to tone it down too. Even with the wedding aside, we can't afford to do extravagant things right now.
I wasn't going to get him anything (we usually don't make a big deal out of V-day) but I was on Etsy and fell in love with a personalized Key chain - It'll say: "I aim to Misbehave" - <3 S, forever and always
Yeah, we're dorks and fell in love over Firefly.
@PrncssDva - we painted pottery last year! We had so much fun! Not sure what we are doing - we got 2 of the same blank card that we are going to write in and give to each other, probably go out to dinner, but I haven't come up with a gift yet
Im going to get his tires rotated, this year we are going cheap since the wedding is comming soon and we have sspent so much. Plus its something he has wanted but hasnt had the cash for.

I got my husband an Oakland A's jacket and a Bible cover. Both were from either TJ Maxx or Ross, but still pretty nice.
What are you getting you SO for the holiday?
