Though it's far off, my groom suggested engraved knives (something good like a Gerber) or maybe leathermans. Men like knives, right? :)
We're getting them those custom Chuck Taylors and some Ray Ban Wayfarers. That'll make for some great hipster pics. :p
We haven't decided yet but I love these custom etsy cufflinks:
- typewriter keys: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=29937347
- LEGOs: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=29937347
If they're not jewelry people what about a cool rugged key chain: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=26014570&ref=sr_list_12&&ga_search_query=groomsmen&ga_search_type=handmade&ga_page=61&order=date_desc&includes[]=tags&includes[]=title
or even a poker set?
We haven't decided for sure yet on groomsmen gifts but I do know that we are purchasing their ties! They all wear them everyday to work so I thought it would be a nice gesture. We are getting them something else but we're not sure. Up for suggestions though? Is the tie thing stupid? Let me know thanks!
@joey - I love your vintage football poster idea! Very thoughtful.
@Miss Riley - Great find! This seller has Nintendo games too!
My groom bought six pairs of cufflinks for each of his five groomsmen. Ebay has really cheap cufflinks, and my husband picked out a pair that represented each groomsman and gave each guy a full set. Ex: to symbolize his fraternity brother, he got everyone a bottle opener set of links, to symbolize his brother, he bought Obama links... and then he also got a set that represented him that everyone wore on the day of the wedding (really just cufflinks that matched our color scheme!)
We got them our wish ties. My girls may not wear their dresses again but I can guarantee that the guys will wear the tie again. I've bought my FI four other designs over the last few years from her and he *always* gets compliments on them:

For a second gift (because the first is something that they need to wear), he's considering the front pocket wallet. I don't know what the big deal is but the man said it changed his world. WOW.
@miss riley- i LOVE those working part cufflinks! What cool stuff!
Its good to know that everyone is avoiding engraved flasks, lol. There are just too many out there. My FI has like 3 stuffed in a drawer somewhere cause he has no use for them...
We ordered the guys their Capcatchers
They came out awesome! Totally unique and different. I think they'll LOVE them! FI even ordered one for us with our names and wedding date. Now he doesn't have an excuse to EVER forget our anniversary!
My FI's gonna get them something I have a hard time explaining but I'll try. It's a silver money clip but its also for credit cards and there are buttons on it. You can put in up to four cards or ID's and you press the button corresponding to the ID/card you want and it pops just that one out for you. I liked it too but it wasn't girly. I think it was at exclusivelyweddings.com
We got ours cufflinks that suited each of them. One writes video games reviews so we got him Xbox controller ones, another is our Scrabble buddy so we got him Scrabble tiles with his initials, etc.
Each one is getting something different.
BM: Two Armani Pocket Squares, and gift certificate for custom made shirts
Friend 1: Silk Tie
Friend 2: Leather Wallet and Silk Cravate
Female friend: Cute yellow clutch and necklace with a pearl and her name engraved.
Mr Moo only has 1 groomsman - the best man. I think we'll be getting him his tie and silly personalized cufflinks. And we're treating our bridal party (all 2 of them) to a dinner the night before.
Are cufflinks ever a good enough present though? I mean I've never seen guys wear cufflinks if not with a tux, and its not like they wear tuxes to work. Although they're cute, I don't feel like they're anything useful...
Anyone else feel that way?
I'm still glad we stuck with our gut instinct gift, they're really great. http://www.capcatchers.com - If you're looking for unique and different, check them out!
