Im getting him a Play Station 3. Im very excited b/c he's wanted one for forever. I cant WAIT to see the look on his face when he opens it. Giddy. I hope he doesn't ever see this thread haha.
What about you guys? Have you thought of it already?
A trip up in a plane where they let you man the controls ! He has always wanted to be a pilot.
Oooh, your husband will love the Play Station 3, you are such a great wife!!! :)
Actually the plane idea just got me thinking, my DH would LOVE that too!!
@moderndaisy: YAY ! It's great when we get ideas off each other !
I have no idea, so i'm going to keep up with this thread for ideas! I want to get him a really nice Movado watch, but i'm thinking i might leave that for my gift to him for the wedding.
@moderndaisy: Im still a fiancee right now, lol. But my heart tingled when you called him my husband, hehe.
I am making my FH an calendar from shutterfly.com . He is into car shows and won 2nd place at a huge one this year and we got engaged so its been a great 2010! I am adding little inside jokes so its really personal I did this last year and he almost cried because no one has ever spent so much time on a gift for him! Secretly I think thats what made him decide to ask me to be his wife because 2 mths later he bought the ring! but it took him 6mths to ask because he wanted it to be perfect!
FH already has a playstation 3. I may get him a game for his birthday on the 26th. If am thinking of getting him some lingerie for the honeymoon (why do I have to be the only one to dress up). lol IDK I may get him some clothes.
@France_1: I did this for my husbands birthday last year and he loved it!
I really wanted to do an hour on a race track with my husbands own car for him but because he has a convertible they wont let him do it! Now I think I will get him a few records and I dont know what else...we are trying not to spend much this year since we are moving and have to put a lot of money down!
I'm not sure. I was thinking of getting him a first edition of his favorite book, it's something I know he's wanted for a long time. But I'm not sure if it's a good Christmas gift. I would love to hear more!
I'm doing a boudoir session on Monday and planning on giving him a little black book of pics and also a hair clippers-- his ex-wife currently cuts his hair and agreed to teach me how!
Ok I have a little list going and I told him I have thought of four things and he said well I have thought of nothing so make a list and I will get it! And do not worry I am totally ok with that!!
These are what I have so far
1. Argyle Sweater - He saw some at Target he liked
2. Aftershave - no idea what kinda though...
3. Sweatpants with his alma mater on the leg (he always steals mine!)
4. clippers because his are worn down
I'm getting him pillows. I know that sounds odd (and it won't be his only present) but he complains about his pillows at least once a week. We recently stayed in a Sheraton and he LOVED their down pillows. Sheraton sells them online..but they aren't cheap! Two pillows will be $130! I must REALLY love this man.
@Neva: My FI would love new pillows too!!
I bought him a really nice Sturhling watch but his birthday is on the 29th so I'm going to go ahead a give him that. So far I've bought him a couple of PS3 games, slacks, shirts/ties, new Adidas he's been wanting, jeans and tshirts. I have 3 boys also so my Christmas lists always revolves around video games/systems, jeans and sneakers.
My husband wants a Nas (something like a wireless harddrive I guess), a couple of Xbox games, and a bluetooth. Plus I'm going to make him a calander with our wedding pictures. And possibly some new clothes.
I bought him Playstation 3 last year. @Aubergold - I suggest you wrap it in a different box of some sort so it won't give it away! Men have an eye for these types of things ;). I put one of those long boxes that usually hold individual little chip bags on the bottom of the Playstation 3 box so when I wrapped it, it looked like tools or something. He was SUPER surprised. This year...hmmm...decided to do a low key Christmas because of the wedding so maybe take a little weekend trip to Disneyland. For something under the tree...probably something for his new camera I got him for his Bday...or tools... :P
Hmmm, I fixed my boyfriend's old 360 twice before he finally broke down and purchased a new one. I'm not getting him a console...perhaps a new game?
I know I want to get him the softest argyle sweater I can find, new men's house slippers with faux fur lining and lots of cushion, and.. oh yes! Bucky Balls! Then our anniversary is coming up in January... I have to start thinking about that too.
I'm trying to get some tickets to the Falcons vs Saints game. But the backup is a wine chiller (he's been BEGGING for one) and a poker set! :)
@Neva: That's an awesome idea! My FI complains about his pillows at least a few nights a week.. he hasn't been able to find one that's really worked for him, that either a) isn't too fluffy/big, or b) doesn't completely deflate after a month of using it (his current memory foam pillow). I'll look into those Sheraton pillows.. thanks for the idea!
A new watch. I gave him a beatiful watch a few years ago and he lost it. He felt so bad. This year when I asked him what he wanted he sheepishly asked for another one just like it.
I'll probably also get him a few work appropriate shirts and ties because he is in desperate need of those.
My BF doesn't want presents. That makes me so sad. I loved when he got excited about the gifts I got him for his birthday.
Maybe I will just cook him a dinner with his favorite dishes that I can't stand (stuffed peppers, ants on a log). Then cook him dishes that I also love (buffalo chicken bites and lemon pasta). The boy has to eat, so it can be a treat as well.
He did say I could put things in his stocking and a Wii game and tickets to something will fit in there, so I may try that.
My mom adopted a Zebra in his name at the zoo in St. Louis. He loves zebras and zoos, so that's awesome. He said a donation was OK, so go mom!
it's our first xmas as husband and wife and i was thinking of getting an engraved xmas tree ornament.. too corny? we've spent a lot of money on our honeymoon, so we aren't doing gifts.
We don't really exchange presents, rather we save our money and take a BIG VACATION, last year we did SPAIN, GERMANY, FRANCE, and SWITZERLAND! This year we are doing HAWAII, AUSTRAILIA, & NEW ZEALAND!
Most people I know go home for the holidays, but we tried to go home to Texas and visit both of our families but it was a nightmare and flights were outrageous! Plus our families live about 8 hours apart! It was not very enjoyable, since then we decided to enjoy ourselves and visit our families after the holidays! Sorry Completely off topic!! LOL
@bohemianbailie: For aftershave and shaving cream, check out "The Art of Shaving" I bought this for my love, while i was out shopping with the girls, and he loved how easy it made shaving and how his face responed. The Tubs of shaving cream last 1 year, so its not that pricey!!!
We are donating money and giving each other matching sweatshirts from the Humane Society.
So far I have bought him a new tennis racquet (not a surprise though because he had to tell me exactly which one to get) I need a few other ideas for some smaller things and for his birthday 12 days after Christmas.
DH has asked for a massage thing for his office chair and a sautering gun(?). I'll probably get those and maybe some new pants for work (he tears them apart to the point I can't fix them).
Unless there are any other suggestions?
@His Barista: My FI had one of those massage pad things. He got it a Sam's club for a pretty good price. I think it lasted about 1.5 years though died of course outside of the 1 year warranty
For birthdays, my fiance and i always take each other out for a fancy, expenisive, once a year dinner at a new or famous Sydney restaurant. We've been together 5 years and have bought each other most anything we can think that we need already, so we thought why not spend the money on awesome food and drinks instead.
For christmas, we're doing the same thing but just having one meal out, at this restaurant that overlooks the opera house, and we're sitting at the "chefs table" where we can see the celebrity chef cook and chat with him and stuff! Its not til February but i'm SOOOOOOOO excited! Best christmas present ever, bar none.
@Meowkers: Would you mind terribly if I asked what watch(es) you're looking at? FH asked for a watch this year too, specifically a dress watch (because I already bought him a sports watch that he wears all the time now) and I have little clue where to start!
My BF's 30th birthday is the day after Christmas, so I booked us a 8 day 7 night vacation to Punta Cana, Dominician Republic. We are leaving on the 23rd.
Unfortunately I had to tell him because of his job, but he is so excited.
I had to do something huge, because 30th birthdays are a big deal to us....
Well my BF is Jewish, so I buy him Hanukkah presents, but I want to share too! I got him a plane ticket to Boston to meet my family for the first time, tickets to a Celtics game while we're in Boston, and an FSU Law tshirt (he just started and doesn't have one yet). I'm also making him a movie basket with a few blu rays, some candy and popcorn, a coupon book, a sexy-type basket (handcuffs, blindfold, etc.), a cookbook, and probably a gift card to Banana Republic.
my SO is an avid snowboarder so I'm getting him new boots, bindings and goggles. And in his line of work he usually wears coveralls and a hardhat, but every now and then he as to attend meetings and/or courses so I'm going to get him some button down shirts (i'm excited cuz I never see him in anything other than tshirts and jean) ugh i can't think of anything else to get him, he's kind of hard to shop for.
also, i forget who mentioned it, but what is shutterfly?? i usually make online calendars for my family and get them printed off at walmart. is it the same thing?
DH and I are not really big on "stuff" presents, so we're getting eachother a couples massage. However, we started a tradition last year where we give eachother christmas ornaments. Last year we each got the other a "We're Engaged" ornament and this year we're going to get "First Married Christmas" ornaments to exchange. It's a nice way to start our family collection. :)
@boulderbride2010: Such a good idea with the ornament. I'm looking on Etsy for an "we're engaged" ornament. He probably think it's dumb but I'll like it!
@Drums: I'm not looking at specific brands more the overall style. The watch I had previously got him which he lost was Kenneth Cole. It was a very specific look and they don't have that style anymore. So i'm just scouring stores and websites for anything similar within a reasonable price.
I'm not sure where you live but a good place for discounted nice watches is Loehmanns and different higher end outlets, (like Saks). I always start there.
