I’m going to be getting my mom a 3-strand pearl necklace. She can wear it the day of and after. I’ll also be writing her a letter for a bit of sentimentality.

I got both of our moms charm bracelets from Brighton. I chose a couple charms for each that suited their personalities. They loved them, and they’ve added a ton of charms since!

As a MOB, the thing that would mean the most is a hand written letter from the heart.  There is nothing any of my girls could buy me that would mean more than that.  On the flip side – I pray none of them ever give me one of those embroidered hanky things.  That sits in a drawer for ever and hankies are for old ladies.  For me, that would be the most useless gift ever.

handwritten letter?  That would make me ugly cry for sure and be a treasure for the rest of my life.

I got my mom a mug (she LOVES coffee) and it had a beautiful design and described the importance of being a mother, super sappy but totally sweet. And I also got her an antique lamp shade. This may sound stupid, but several years ago our cat knocked a lamp off of a hutch and broke the lamp shade. This particular lamp belonged to my mom’s mom, who had died before I was born. My mom was extremely sentimental about the lamp and was completely heart-broken when it was destroyed. I spent months finding the exact one on ebay. I had my sister secretly measure the lamp shade base because I am not in the same city. She was completely blown away and cried. It was the best gift I could have ever given her to thank her for helping us with the wedding as much as she did.

Lily_of_the_valley:  LMAO! Gee…. thanks.  It’s a trinket, you know the kind of thing mothers collect and the reason I will never be one!

Lily_of_the_valley:  i got my mom nothing. I may be in the minority, but we didnt really give gifts to anyone accept the bridal party. I did pay for my mom’s makeup the day of though.

We also didnt give each other gifts so no one was left out. We just aren’t material ppl and my parents said not to waste time and money on something for them.  I did give her a nice photo album with all our pictures 1 month later though.

I’m glad someone else said they didn’t get their mom something…it hasn’t even crossed my mind buying an actual ITEM for my mom. If anything we might get both our moms massages or something. We haven’t gotten to that stage of planning yet though

Lily_of_the_valley:  I’m also totally stumped. She is moving to another state after our wedding and will be selling most of her stuff, dont really want to get her more “things”. I think the letter is the best idea for my situation!

We got both sets of parents a nice frame from Things Remembered.  It says “We know love exists because of you.”  We will be adding a note, and something else stating that we will give them a wedding picture after the wedding.
