I really want to do monogrammed waffle knit robes for my bridesmaids. ill probably just do their first initial or first name. One of my girl's is getting married 2 months after me, & i want the other girls to use them for however long too. I found a seller on etsy that sells the robes and a make up bag that match (both monogrammed)for $46 with $9 shipping. Do you think this is too much?? There's a shop in town that has the robes, but theyre $30 alone before monogramming & tax. I might also make the girls earrings for the big day depending on how much i spend on the robes. ideas? opinions? recommendations?

I have no idea what i want to do for the groomsmen, ring bearer, or the flowergirl. So i would love suggestions!

I'm thinking about getting monogrammed hankies for our mothers and grandmothers.

i still have no idea for the dads and grandfathers. My Paw Paw is marrying us, so i would like to get him something special & different from what i get the other men.

I can't wait to hear your ideas and suggestions!!
    THANKS BEES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wish I could be of some assitance but I have no idea what I would get the men.  I'm going to leave that to my SO.  I do know that for my bridal part I'm going to get them pear drop crystal earrings from Swarovski.  No worries, they aren't as expensive as they sound.  Only 49.99/pair

I'm having trouble with gift shopping too but I will tell you what I've got so far...

Bridesmaids - red wine glasses with their names etched on them (they came out really pretty), I also plan on getting them each a pair of earrings, a fun magazine subscription, and probably some nice body stuff - like lotion, perfume, or whatever. And maybe a gift card to Victoria Secret if I have any cash left over...

Flower girls - heart-shaped silver boxes from Things Remembered with their names on them, might do a bracelet as well.

Groomsmen - I suggested that my guy get his guys nice leather travel bags (like, for their toiletries) with their names or initials on them. But really, I'm leaving that up to him.

Parents - I have no idea!!!!

This is what we're doing... Maybe something will work for you!

GIRLS: I'm paying for their airbrush makeup (yes, I'm considering that a gift) , a makeup bag from Sephora, a bottle of body wash and lotion, personalized necklace via Etsy, flip flops, and candle

GUYS: tie and fun socks for the wedding, Lego button covers (they're in regular shirts of their own so no cuff links like FI will have), and Ray Ban sun glasses (mega discounted at Macys at Christmas!)

PARENTS: each a gift certificate to their favorite hotel or spa - figured they deserve a little "me" time after all this instead of a picture frame or something... We'll do some Shutterfly books for them for Christmas I think...

READERS: personalized necklaces and candle, maybe a little something else

For other men, I was just suggested a watch for my brother who is walking me down the aisle. You could do that for the other men in your life. Or FI received a nice bottle of whiskey as a gift for a wedding he was in! Liqour or cigars, perhaps? A nice poker set?

I love the bathrobe idea!! Robes are expensive! Your price sounds completely reasonable... I'd LOVE to have gotten that as one of my past BM gifts!

What about a nice bottle of champagne for your parents?

Consider the bottle of liqour for the groomsmen. It was a big hit! If they're into that... At least our guys wouldn't get a $50+ bottle of booze for themselves.

@rday - i love how the wine glasses turn out BUT one of my girls will only be 18 and another will only be 17. i don't want their parents to think im encouraging anything. haha

@gibsonkk - i would definitely consider the makeup a gift!! thats a great idea too. i like the watch idea too. that just might work :)

My FI is in basic training right now, so the GM gifts are up to me. However, my 15 year old brother is one of the GM so i dont think the whiskey would work out. haha...& then my parents arent big drinkers either. so im trying not to gift alcohol. i dont want to offend anyone. hahah oh well, we'll see (:

    THANKS LADIES!

I am doing Little Miss Sunshine shirts for all of my girls, but they're personalized for each girls' personalities. Ex: Little Miss Italian Mafia, Little Miss Daredevil, etc. Then I also got them personalized necklaces, I'm making them a really cool handbag which are all personalized, then I'm adding some nail polish, lip gloss and homemade carmel popcorn in a jar!

For the guys we are doing personalized Fossil watches :]

I'm still figuring this out too, can't wait to read all the ideas.  So far:

Girls:  Necklace and Earrings to wear day of, flip flops, recycled tote bag & BPA free water bottle.

Post Honeymoon gift (we are going to Jamaica) we are getting all the parents Jamacian cookbooks and a bottle of Jamacian rum.

MOTB:  Necklace, engraved bud vase, candle & she is also getting a tote bag.. she'll have lots of things to carry, day of!

FOTB:  I'm thinking about getting him a personalized grilling set in a nice case... maybe a couple nice beer glasses...

That's about all I have for now!

I did the spa robes (also from an Etsy seller) and I paid $31 for each of them.  I looked and looked and couldn't find them any cheaper.  I think that the robe with a make up bag for $46 is a great deal.  Who are you using?  My seller was AMAZING!

For our guys, we did engraved cigar holders and a cigar.  They turned out great.  I think they were close to $20 apiece - after the engraving.

We got my FI's grandfater and uncle (both are doing readings) embroidered handkercheifs from an etsy seller.  They were gorgeous and sooo inexpensive.  They had some great ones for ladies too.  If you want the seller's info - please let me know.

Oh, one of my bridesmaids is getting married 5 months after me, and I just had her monogram done as her new monogram.  But, I asked her to see which way she wanted it done.

So far my top contenders are:

    http://www.baronbob.com/missaknife.htm

It's an all purpose "army knife" that does everything! It has:

    • Flashlight
    • Screwdriver
    • Keychain
    • Needle & Thread
    • Perfume Bottle
    • Mirror
    • Pill Box
    • Knife
    • Safety Pin
    • Pen
    • Tweezers
    • Bottle Opener

Also, this is the coolest flask I've ever seen: http://www.exclusivelyweddings.com/Weddings/Wedding-Party-Gifts/Groomsmen-Gifts/All-Groomsmen-Gifts/Stainless-Steel-Flask-and-Cigar-Holder

It has a built in cigar holder! My girls and I love to get cheap falvored (mango!) cigars for girls nights out, so this is perfect and unusual!

I'm also making necklaces to match their dresses, an inspiration pic is attached.

I got my girls each a robe from VS and it was around that price. I think they'll get lots of use out of it as it's pretty, but not so sheer that they can't use it comfortably around the house.

    BM's:
    - necklace from Etsy (that they don't have to wear day of if they don't want to)
    - wrap for the day ofhopefully in a color that they'll all want to wear again
    - gift cert for a mani/pedi
    - something personalized to hold it all in - a tote, silver box, makeup bag, etc..

(I still want to figure out something additionl that's special for my MOH's though)

    GM:
Most of them are into playing poker & the guys go down to AC for most bachelor parties, big b-days etc. so FI's looking into poker sets that are personalized with each of their initials on the chips and or cards.

    Parents:
Digital Video converters. It's this cool device that can convert all your old home videos from VHS or camcorder, etc to digital files.

Didn't think of anything for our readers... that might be a tough one.

The exact combinations are forever changing b/c I am giving gifts to my four bridesmaids along with four other friends who will be helping me a lot. Included in the mix are manicures for the BMs, some wallet clutches, bath salts, candles, body cream (some combination of that), Old Navy flip flops, and I just started looking at personalized spa wraps! My MOH is also getting some nice perfume, and for the flower girl, a jumbo coloring book of princesses and a personalized tote bag (she's 5).

Parents and groomsmen - I haven't gotten there yet!

(Mrs. Menard to Be - just wanted to let you know I'll be moving to Columbus after we get married for about a year!)

I'm getting them a small purse/clutch (they'll be different probably but in the same price range - they have different tastes), a gift card to Sephora, lip gloss, and aveda lotion.

I just saw another bee's post that they were putting together a little pampering set for the hostess' of her bridal shower though which I thought was a great idea, so I just had my shower this past weekend and am going out today to get supplies at Bath & Body Works and probably Target for that. It was such a cute idea! With the tag reading 'I hope that your next shower is as wonderful as mine!'

My fiance was given a Cuban cigar as a gift for a wedding he was in, and he LOOVED it. He still talks about how "epic" it was. Haha what a dork.

He's going to give his groomsmen personalized "brands." Like a cattle brand with their monogram...they'll be able to use it to brand their steak when grilling, etc. He's really excited about it, and since his guy friends are all really into hunting, eating meat, and grilling out, I know they'll really like it.

We're keeping it super simple and getting all the guys and all the girls engraved Flasks, but giving the guys a gunmetal silver colored flask, and the for the ladies, a lighter titanium with a bit of a design on them.

however, the fun part is how we are evgraving them. since everyone in our bridal party is pretty music-obsessed, we're taking one of their favorite bands and replacing one word with their name. for instance "James vs' Shark" (instead of "bear vs shark"), "jillian cab for cutie" (instead of "death cab for cutie") and since we have my brother and his wife both in our wedding party, they will get semi-matching flasks with a group they both love and make it "Black Eyed Josh" and "Black Eyed Jenn".

pretty silly, but hopefully they'll find it funny.

I am giving my bridesmaids giftbags with a pashmina, a pair of flip flops and a gift card for a manicure and pedicure in the area where they live.  I was also considering including a bottle of nailpolish and maybe a nice lip balm in the bag.

I love the idea of robes ladies!  My all-time favorite bridesmaid gift was a bathwrap.  Anything to throw on after getting out of the shower is great!

I love all of the gift ideas.

BMs: jewerly, hair and makeup for the day of, mani/pedi day before, a picture frame (we are having a beach themed wedding), and a travel/laptop bag. I found the picture frames at Kohls, and the travel bag at QVC. I love the bag, and they come in different prints. I picked this one bc our color is teal/aqua.

GM: my FI hasn't decided on what he wants to give him. One is my 16 year old brother so I think a gift of alcohol is out. (my mom would not appreciate that lol)

Parents: Ummm, this is a tough one. I need some advice. My FI parents are divorced so I'm working with 3 sets of parents. My mom and his mom are helping out with the wedding (we are paying for most), but his dad is not helping at all, which is fine I totally understand. I've read on here that we are supposed to buy gifts for our parents bc they have helped with our wedding. There's no way that I would ever show up to our RD without a gift for his dad and stepmom. But how to we show our appreciation to our parents(who have hlped), without leaving his dad out. ummmm

BMs: necklaces from Tiffany (different for each girl).  I'm getting a slightly more expensive one for my MOH.  Also getting the MOH a Coach wristlet.  I'll probably make bridesmaid tanks for them to wear for getting ready, and flip flops for the reception (I'm undecided on this because I'm allowing them to wear shoes of their chosing)

GM: I'm thinking a cooler with their favorite beer, or maybe a subscription to a Beer of the Month club

Parents: digital frame loaded with engagement photos (later to be filled with wedding photos)

    Readers: Dunkin Donuts gift cards

Officiant (family friend): good bottle of wine
