For some reason, this type of thread is always one of my favorites on Post-A-Thon nights!
I received a package of Harry & David pears today at work, and we have a bag of spinach & a tub of feta in the fridge - I'm just going to throw it all together and whip up an easy balsamic vinaigrette. YUM!
What are you eating tonight?
We're not sure yet. Mr. S was talking about making us some butternut squash soup tonight, but we're both feeling sort of bleh and might head out for some matzoh ball soup instead. ;)
yeah um.. I was too lazy to cook so I had a healthy choice microwavable with a glass of wine yyeeahh
<input id="gwProxy" type="hidden" /><input id="jsProxy" onclick="jsCall();" type="hidden" />
Hubby was talking about making some Corn Chowder for dinner. Yum! He is off work this week, so he is doing all the cooking :-)
We're having bowtie pasta with garlic cream sauce. Super simple and super delicious!
Im making american chop suey! Easy and cheap! And soooooo yummy! FI's best friend and groomsman is coming over, havent seen him in forever! So excited. Also making brocolli cutlets, cheesy bread and kahlua mudslides!
I made buffalo chicken chili, and ate mine with sauteed onions (my fiance doesn't like onions, so I couldn't just add them into the chili). I hadn't made this chili in awhile, and it was delicious!!
We're heading out to a cocktail party at my sister's house. The food she has on the menu--leek and proscuitto empanadas, shrimp cocktail, assorted cheese, hummus and pita chips, tortilla chips and guac, potstickers, mixed nuts and, well, cocktails. ;) I'm pretty excited and did an extra 30 minutes on the elliptical in advance so I can splurge a little.
I don't actually know what we're having for dinner. We've been invited to a friend's house for dinner, present exchange (they were out of town over Christmas), and the Penguins' game. I guarantee it will be tasty and involve alcohol - the husband of the couple is quite the bartender and *incredibly* fussy when it comes to booze. There's stuff in his bar that I've never even heard of - he special orders or imports it.
@ Gilneas - that sounds AMAZING! Any chance you'd share the recipe?
OMG this thread is making me hungry.
There are about two bites and one crab rangoon leftover from my lunch, but I don't think that's going to cut it. I'll probably be horrible and eat five mini kit kats after that. Sigh.
OMG Mrs. DG that sounds AMAZING... too bad I can barely taste anything right now ;).
Hawaiian BBQ! Yum, which is essentially a mixture of Japanese and Korean meats!
mmm... naan and raita sounds amazing right now... and the buffalo chicken chili!
You are all making me so hungry.
We are having some baked chicken and salad. I may make some other veggies too, not sure yet.
We ordered Swiss Chalet (we're both feeling lazy tonight). I just got back from a run and don't want to cook anything.... but after reading all of your posts, I'm suddenly craving butter chicken!
Homemade baked teriyaki chicked , brown rice, and some sort of veggie....
Creamy Mustard Tarragon Chicken with a side of whole wheat penne in a warm parmesan herb light sauce....
mmmm....
Of course!
Buffalo Chicken Chili
1 1/3 pound of ground turkey or chicken
1 15 oz can of white beans, drained and rinsed
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp fresh ground pepper
1 tsp onion poweder
1 tsp cajun seasoning
1 tsp salt
2 tbl flour
1/3 cup hot sauce (cayenne + vinegar based, like Frank's Red Hot)
1 tbl blue cheese dressing
10 oz chicken broth
2 oz vermouth, white wine, or beer [Whatever you have on hand]
In dutch oven or large pot, brown the turkey or chicken until cooked all the way through. Sprinkle the garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, salt, cajun seasoning, and flour over the meat, stirring well to elimate any lumps and combine. Add the remaining ingredients, and stir to combine. Cover and simmer on low for about forty five minutes, or as long as you'd like, stirring occasionally so it doesn't stick.
Serve with a little cheese on top (blue or cheddar), some crispies (crackers, tortilla chips, my fiance loves goldfish crackers on his!), and a dollop of sour cream. Also great with a little bit of chopped celery.
@Gilneas - Thank you! My FI and I love buffalo chicken, we'll have to try this out!
I finished up some spinach and mozzarella ravioli that I bought at costco! For dessert, leftover sugar cookies from Publix that were on clearance!
Totally traditional dinner at home tonight. Rice and red cooked pork. Maybe some pickled vegetables but probably not.
Gilneas- that sounds amazing!
But I'm really full right now because I just mowed that meal!
We spent an hour at a mob scene grocery store on the way home buying things for our NYE party and couldn't physically get to or carry any more food, so I ordered us some nice sushi for dinner :)
You guys are starving me LOL... It is just me and the dog home tonight so i had half of a frozen pizza
Quiche - that sounds freakin delightful!
I'm currently getting ready to stir fry some chicken and broccoli/water chestnuts with ginger and teriyaki. Annnd maybe open a bottle of wine? Haha...I'm saving some good cooking for tomorrow night...some homemade turkey meatballs...YUM!
Diet starts in the New Year so tonight it's Gray's Papaya chili dogs and cheese fries. Yeah, I know. But they're soooooo good.
It's morning here, so I'm at Starbucks with my super strong black coffee and a cinnamon roll reading WB.^^
We are having Voila Chicken (it's a frozen meal in a bag). I will admit that most nights we eat frozen things and heat them up.
Oh @gilneas - THANK YOU for that recipe! It sounds amazing!!!
I made myself a spinach and feta omlette, and had some of my mother-in-law's mac&cheese that is leftover in the fridge. Random, I know. ;)
I need to go food shopping! I had a leftover lentil and veggie salad. I need to get more creative with meals in the new year!
We had Thai Red Curry made by my lovely fiance. He made it SUPER spicy though, and my tongue is still on fire!
