Well the question is pretty self explanatory.  What are you serving for cocktail hour?  We're still in the process of narrowing down our choices.  Food overload!

We had a very small wedding so a very small cocktail hour so we just had homemade potato chips with blue cheese and scallions and mini crab cakes with black bean and avocado salsa.  It was absolutely delicious and everyone raved about it.

We are serving cheeses, breads, home made dips, antipasto platter, nuts, fruit and veggie platters, smoked salmon something, and prawns. Our reception is a cocktail lunch so all the more substantial and impressive stuff will be save for later (ie. when I am there to eat it!).

Nadda, its too expensive. We're can only have food catered by the venue and they charge minimum of 4$ per person, so thats about $500 after tax and gratuity NO THANK YOU. It'll be about 5pm so they can wait an hour for dinner. I did, however, want to serve fruit kebabs!

Yum! Nice choices, everyone! We're doing an antipasto station in honor of my Italian heritage:

Prosciutto, Fra'Mani salumi, focaccia, breadsticks, olives, fresh mozzarella, grilled eggplant, sun-dried tomatoes, grilled portabella mushrooms, and marinated artichoke hearts.

This thread is seriously making me hungry. I'm going to have to send out fiance for some food pretty soon!

    We are planning on having:

    - Mashed Potato Marini Bar- LOVE this idea our caterer came up with. They serve you delicious homeade mashed potatos in a martini glass and let you put your own toppings. Toppings are butter, chives, normal salted bacon, sour cream, green onions, and applewood smoked bacon.

    - Shrimp Cocktail

    - Fruit and Cheese Platter

    - Mini Sirloin Sliders on sourdough bread w/ a summer pesto sauce.

Not decided yet, except on one thing, one of our chef's specialties: chocolate-maple chicken wings!

    oh man.

likely will also include: stationed cheeses, stationed hummus, passed asparagus tips w/ different mayo dipping sauce, and some other vegetarian, seasonal option.
