I know it's a little early, but with all this talk of turkeys and stuffing and pumpkin roll, I'm in the holiday mood.  Our family tradition is to go around the table at Thanksgiving and tell the group 3 things we're thankful for.  Usually two are serious and one is funny.  This year, I'm thankful for:

    1. My new husband, who now has to legally put up with me forever
    2. Health and happiness of myself, my family, my friends and my animals
    3. My cleaning lady.  God bless her.

What are YOU thankful for?  Laughing

    - My family and our collective good health and spirits.

2008, in a word, sucked for our family (my dad said "the only good thing that happened in 2008 was you getting engaged" which was simultaneously sweet and sad). '09 has been much kinder and this year at the table we won't have an empty seat because someone died, but an extra one, as the fiance is joining me for Thanksgiving for the first time. YAY!!

@allisonc - I hear you on that one.  This year has been much better health-wise than the last couple for our family.  Wishing you and your family continued good health!

    My List:

    • My new husband: This might not seem like much to some but it is to me- I moved for his job and have been pretty homesick after the wedding. The second night after he got his (first) brand new Xbox that came out on the tenth (his wedding gift from the groomsmen and me), instead of sitting in front of the TV and playing for hours on end, he took me to find a bar with the Penguins game (I LOVE hockey and our cable stopped carrying Versus) so I could get a little taste of home.
    • My friends: I hadn't been able to see them hardly at all the past 2 years while I was in grad school 7 hours away, but a lot of them live around where I moved to now and we all picked up right where we left off, they are my true blues.
    • My family: It was quite a battle to get them to let me go to the college of my choice (granted it was 20hrs away from where we were living at the time), but they finally did and if they hadn't I wouldn't have met my husband or many of my really good friends. Not to mention all their support growing up, especially financially with the wedding and even after, helping us with a down payment so we could get the car we wanted (and needed!).
