any glass jars would work, just remember to vary heights and sizes. Also, don’t forget tongs & scoops! Michaels sells them, I think?

I lucked out & rented them instead of buying. Maybe you could ask your florist/linen vendor?

Also, if you want a slightly more “sophisticated” feel/look, check out this thread: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/budget-friendly-diy-apothecary-jars-sharing-ideas

oh sugar. you mean bags/boxes, don’t you?

I’m using those fold-over sandwich baggies, and then probably doing a sticker of some sort to hold it closed. Unsure if I’ll go with our monogram or just silver star or something.

I may use those drawstring organza bags, in a big enough size to fit lots of the candy in (who wants to walk out with barely half-a-handful of candy???) 😀

I am doing a vintage theme so we are using small brown bags (think brown lunch bags) which is actually what they used to use in the penny candy shops (we are also doing 1940 themed candy).  We are also going to stamp the bags with cute little “thank you” and “just married” stamps.

We had more than just candy for favors for our guests, so I put a clear cellophane bag with a twist tie in paper bags that I embossed and tagged. Our guests loved them. I had them in a basket for easy access for the guests.

I got little pink and white paper bags from Michael’s and Hobby Lobby, and I’m using the same scroll stamp I’m using on the invites to decorate them.  Thinking about having little silver stickers to close them, but I’m not sure if it’s necessary.

I used cello bags, and twist ties from ebay.  I think I paid maybe a dollar or two for 100 bags (and they were pink with clear hearts and blue with clear hearts, so they do not have to be plain)

Everyone loved them!

if you want the link to the ebay user you can email me at [email protected]!

I’m doing the chinese takeout containers as well – purchased from uline. I got plain white ones and FI’s Mom and sister are decorating them (with an approved design of course)! I can’t wait to see the finish products.
