So, im trying to decide on my music.
What did you walk down the aisle to?
What about your bridesmaids?
I'm walking down to Here Comes the Bride.
And my bridesmaids are walking down to the Canon in D Celtic song.
For me I'm thinking an acoustic version of Blackbird by The Beatles.
No idea for the wedding party yet.
After the ceremony we are walking back up the aisle to "Make me Smile" by Chicago....specifically the "I'm so haaaappy......that you loooove me....."part.
I think it's so hard to pick songs.
I love Mr. Blue Sky by ELO for the entire processional, but I'm still indecisive.
"New Slang" by The Shins :o) Very excited about our alt-rock wedding!
"Sweet Pea" by Amos Lee (just accoustic guitar, no vocals)
Wedding party is walking into accoustic guitar, no vocals, "Angel" by Jack Johnson
The interlude during our sand ceremony will be "Better Together" by Jack Johnson (which will have the music)
And then for our recessional it will be a recording of "I'll be there for you" by The Rembrandts
I want my sisters to walk down to the Hawaiin version of Somewhere Over the Rainbow, but I'm not sure how to top that. I just love the song.
it's amazing how different everyone's music is! i really want something other than here comes the bride but i am incredibly indecisive!
azinaugust - i think thats awesome! i found a rock version of canon in d and it was amazing!!
mandalynn - i love that you're incorporating all those songs! & i LOVE acoustic music!
My MOH, flowergirl, and I are ALL walking down to "Bless the Broken Road" by Rascal Flatts. I am not one who really cares about the formalities of the processional, so we're just all walking to the same thing... Gives us a chance to listen to the ENTIRE song! :) It's been FH's and my song since we first started dating.
I know that we'd like to incorporate other songs in our ceremony, but am not sure which songs or how to incorporate them yet... We might want one for the unity candle ceremony, and we have discussed maybe having a ring warming, during which we would want music, but literally the only song I know I must have is "Bless the Broken Road" lol. I don't even know what our recessional is going to be yet! :)
@twinstar, i love that song too. I want to use it in our ceremony in some way!
I'm walking to Ray Charles "you are so beautiful" because my fiance has always sang it to me and it makes me smile when I'm upset or in a huff :)
@ccranetobe- I *love* that song! I didn't even think about it when I was thinking of the processional, but I would love to incorporate that into our ceremony!
@misslaryss - that's our song too! :) ive seriously considered having my BMs walk to canon in d and me to bless the broken road. i am just sooooo indecisive!!
I'm walking down the aisle to Blowers Daughter by Damien Rice.
I don't know what the wedding party will walk to - - - still working on that!
Pretty sure the BMs are walking in to Beautiful Day (U2) and me to In My Life (Beatles).
The BMs and myself are walking in the Eluvium's Radio Ballet. My FI picked it out for me, but we want to hear as much of it as we can at the ceremony, so we're pacing the processional to the crescendo of the song.
@Mrs. Menard to Be you should see our whole playlist:
I think it's really the best way to show off your musical personalities! I think a rock version of Canon in D would be awesome, have you seen Rob P's song about it?
I am walking in to Iron and Wine's acoustic version of "Such Great Heights"
Recessional: "First Day of My Life" by Bright Eyes
Still working on the BM's entrance!
For all you Indie Rock Girlies: Sondre Lerche's cover of Animal Collectives "Bluish" is so beautiful ;) Maybe not ceremony music but definitely dinner music!!
Very natural, , simply soul touching ceremony
BMs will be walking to "Meant to Be" by Xavier Rudd
I will be walking to "Truly, Madly, Deeply" by Ray LaMontagne (its an instrumental, not the Savage Garden Version). Gorgeous and dreamy song :)
One of Mr. O's best men is singing an acoustic version of "Fireflies" by Owl City. I absolutely can't wait! My laydeez are walking down to an instrumental version of "Don't Stop Believin'" by Journey.
I'm walking down the aisle to Coldplay's "Fix You'. I haven't quite decided on what the girls will walk down to! Maybe something by Vitamin String Quartet.
I'll be walking to Peter, Paul and Mary's Wedding Song (There is Love) without lyrics. Haven't decided about bridal party yet...maybe Canon in D, but I'm liking a lot of the other suggestions here!
@erinsriley I just found that song the other day! I'm in love! That's most likely going to be my entrance music too!
@VTGirlinMA Awesome! I haven't really found anyone who has even heard it, much less wanted it in their wedding. So exciting! :) What are your bridesmaids walking to?
@erinsriley - That is what my mom walked down the aisle to! I would love to use it to honor their marriage. Where did you find it without lyrics?
@pennedandpapered Actually a friend of mine is playing acoustic guitar for us. However, if I do find it as an mp3 without lyrics, I will definitely let you know! :)
@erinsriley and @pennedandpapered It's on Itunes! Or if you have Lala it is on there with multiple artists doing it. @erinsriley, I have NO idea what what the girls are going to walk into. I do love "Let my love open the door" by Pete Townsand. My step brother may play a guitar for us so I have to find something that is at his skill level. Both songs above aren't too bad.
I'm walking down the aisle to "The Wedding March" by Mendelssohn. Of course!
hey hey.
im another indie rock girl here, but more importantly, Im a Christian.
for the ceremony, up until we are officially married, i really want accoustic hymns.
The girls will walk in to "At the Foot of the Cross (Ashes to Beauty)" by Kathryn Scott
I am walking in to "Be Thou My Vision" sung by Leah Mari ( i love her version, find it in ITunes)
as we exit, its party time! bring on the fun!
we are leaving the ceremony to "All I want is you" by Barry Polisar
our first dance song will be "Never had Nobody like you" by M.Ward
My father daughter dance song will be "You are the Best Thing" by Ray LaMontangue
Such great songs! I would have loved to have used something more contemporary, but our ceremony was (supposed to be) outside and there was no electricity for an iPod or DJ or anything. I hired a flute/guitar duo and my wedding party walked in to Sleepers Awake by Bach and I walked in to Pavane by Faure (one of my all time favorite pieces). It ended up raining on our wedding day, so the ceremony was moved inside. Who could have guessed?
Actually I was mistaken the wedding march is for the recessional.
I'm walking to The Bridal Chorus (Here comes the bride) !
I hadn't even thought of this lol I just kinda assumed that unless you were doing crazy choreography you just did the wedding march. I'm totally going to be on the lookout from now on! You gals have some great ideas though
Wow, took a shower and it suddenly hit me as to what song we should use! "Long Trip Alone" by Dierks Bentley. I can't believe I didn't think of it earlier.
im definitely trying to narrow my choices down soon, & you all have helped so much!
i think im going to have my BMs walk to Canon in D. I'll walk to "Bless the Broken Road" by Rascal Flatts ("our song") or "From this Moment On" by Shania Twain (skipping her talking in the beginning)
whatcha think?
