Do you mean to leave the reception to go to the hotel? Or to leave the next morning for your cruise?

can you wear your dress to the hotel and have a friend/family member pick up the dress from the hotel in the morning?

@Lizzy723:  After my first wedding we drove to the hotel and checked-in in our wedding clothes. Nothing like skipping around town in your wedding dress. I thought it was great fun. Not every day you get to do that.

Have your thought about doing something really traditional and opting for a going away suit? That way, you could do something very 1950ies – change into a cute suit/other useful outfit you’ll get to wear again, throw your bouquet  and make a grand exit among the clapping and cheering of your guests. I don’t know what kind of work you do and how you normally dress but I daresay any woman can find a use for a cute suit or cocktail dress in a light colour so it’s still bridal but not so bridal it would be inappropriate to wear again.

You could wear what ever you feel is appropriate.
Have you thought about a nice cocktail dress? A nice pant suit? Or you could see if you could get a short wedding dress? We are having an after reception party that night (having a morning wedding, lunch reception with just family, evening party with just friends) So im on the hunt for a nice short wedding dress to wear out.

Really what ever you are comfortable with. If i was yourself, I would wear a nice cocktail type dress, this way you can take it on the cruise, and when they have a formal evening you have an outfit. Good luck

@Lizzy723:  When my day is over, I will throw that dress off so fast and jump into the shower. To head to out honeymoon, I will be in Lululemon. Comfort is key for travel!

@Lizzy723:  I really like the dress emstar168 suggested!

I also really like this one:  http://world.dessy.com/p-5957-alfred-sung-style-d518.aspx

I think a simple A-line with a natural waist is one of the most universally flattering shapes. Dupioni and silk shantung are good fabrics if you’re plus sized because they keep shape better . I always prefer more structured, heavy fabrics for myself too when I gain weight – no visible lumps and bumps, panty lines and bra lines (ugh, hate those)! And if you’re self-conscious about your arms you can always wear a cardigan, a jacket or a shawl.

@Lizzy723:  I vote for coral! It’s a lovely colour and I think you’ll get more use out of it later. You could pair it off with an ivory blazer or cardigan and have the best of both worlds 🙂 Also, I’m afraid dove might end up looking a little more silvery-gray than ivory in real life.

Since it will be summer, one of my long breezy summer dresses. I already bought a wedding dress and I refuse to buy any additional clothes for before or after the wedding.
