Hi Ladies - I've been a long-time lurker, but infrequent poster for awhile now, but with my wedding coming up on April 17, I'm starting to have a lot of questions.
Currently I have 3 dresses I could wear for my rehearsal dinner, and I'm torn. I was just wondering what you wore/are planning on wearing to yours?
I figured I'd upload pictures of my dresses to see if I can get some opinions. Please forgive the crappy cell phone pics/lack of tan/makeup/bedhead. Ha ha.
They are both super cute! Which one is more comfortable?! I also choose that one!!! :) I think I like the yellow one best though! I am wearing a yellow dress with my cowboy boots
I love the yellow dress. It's fun, looks great on you, and is a great color! I'm wearing a bright green dress that my FSIL bought me for an engagement present. I just love the bright dresses for RD's.
I echo Rosie Girl!! Wear whatever is the most comfortable.
I'm wearing jeans and a tshirt myself, so I have no other advice... never understood why the rehearsal dinner's are so fancy in the US.. lol ;)
thanks for the lightening fast responses, girls!
for some reason the white dress isn't showing up in the post...i posted it again here.
i was leaning towards wearing the yellow because our wedding colors are yellow and gray, but i worried that it made me look a little top-heavy.
i love the style of the white one, but not sure it suits my figure...the pink one i really like but wasn't sure about.
The yellow one looks so cute on you especially with those shoes (and as a side cute kitchen too haha)! I def vote that. I'm wearing bright green to my RD and white cocktail to post wedding brunch
I love the yellow one! Very spring-y!
I'm wearing an ivory short-sleeved CK dress that had a vintage 60s feel to it. It has a black patent leather skinny belt. Now I just need to figure out the shoes. I'm thinking some sort of closed-toe platforms to complete the vibe. And since the dress is neutral, my shoes are going to POP with color.
I *love* the yellow on you :) how dressy will your RD be? the pink looks a bit more like a cocktail dress to me imho but that could just be the way I'm looking at it (could look a lot different with heels, hair, jewels, etc)
Also, Welcome to WB!!
Here is my dress for our cocktail attire RD
The yellow dress is super super adorable on you. May I ask where you found it, I would love something like that - I think its perfect
sulli301 - i LOVE your dress. so pretty.
goldilocks - yours sounds awesome! i'm loving all the vintage dresses out there right now.
our rehearsal dinner is going to be nice, but not overly fancy. it's actually a nice irish pub, with dark wood interiors. but i feel like anything goes at your own rehearsal dinner - i think the bride should stand out :)
jackie-o - the yellow dress is from macy's. i can look at the brand when i get home from work.
the other two are from lord and taylor - the white is maggy london, the pink is jessica mcclintock.
sigh, i love pretty dresses. haha.
the pink one, definitely! you look terrific in all of them, but the pink one really looks stunning on your body. plus, i think a bright pop of pink in april will be perfect for spring. congrats!!
I love the yellow one! It looks great on you! It definitely does NOT make you look top heavy. Actually I think the opposite, it really makes you look great, LOVE IT!
The yellow dress is cute but I really like the pink dress. I like the detail on the shoulder and the dress is VERY figure flattering.
I love the White one; mainly because it's for the night before your WEDDING!!!!
I like the yellow one, and think its the most flattering on you. All of them are pretty though!
Yellow yellow yellow! It highlights your perfect shape and the color is so beautiful!! I LOVE it! I have no idea what I'm wearing yet, but I just ordered 4 dresses last night and when I get them I'll try them on and hopefully have a winner! (Then send the others back, because I can NOT be buy four dresses right now!!)
It kinda depends on where your rehearsal dinner is? I think the one shoulder one feels more formal and dressy? I think both look great on you though!
Yellow looks good on you, but I really don't like whats going on around the neckline. I'm IN LOVE with the purple dress, which flatters you better too!
mrsmdphd - haaa, I know what you mean, I HAVE to take two of these dresses back. I have definitely done some damage on my credit card with all of these purchases :)
You guys are so helpful, thank you!
if it's dressy enough, wear that pink one! i love it. Otherwise, i love the yellow one. the other doesn't pop the way the first 2 do.
Mine was at a more relaxed outdoor / cliffside place, so i wore a brown maxi dress, not a boxy one, with wooden beads and a halter.
for those who were interested in the brand of the yellow dress - it is a brand called taylor, i purchased at macy's. thanks again, guys!
i love that pink dress! it's gorgeous! & i love the white one! its very wedding appropriate and it looks great on you :)
I like the first two - very classy! The white isn't as flattering.
I think the yellow one and the pink one suits your figure the best. The pink one might be a bit va-va-voom for a rehearsal dinner, but I guess that depends on how formal it's going to be.
I like the pink! The yellow neckline looks kind of off to me... but it could just be the pic, perhaps!
I vote for the yellow one-- it really makes your figure look good and it's so bright and cheery!! But you HAVE to wear it with those fierce heels-- are they cow print?! CUTE!!
I love the first dress!! That's what I had in mind for myself. And those shoes are actually the ones I was looking at for the wedding but in the pink print they have! Super cute!
i love all !! but, i think i lean towards the white ( even though the pink is my fav). I love the pink but it seems to "go out-ish" for me with the one shoulder.... you def rock all 3 don't get me wrong!
futurebean - The shoes are flower print, Anne Klein (also purchased at Macy's). I definitely purchased those shoes to go with that dress :)
