I have a corset from Fredricks, so both functional and looks nice but I am trying to figure this out too. I want to look cute when the dress comes off, but to make the dress look good on that doesn't really seem to want to happen. I am thinking possibly just changing. :/
Under my dress I just wore some nude seemless full-coverage undies--utilitarian, but not sexy. When we got to the hotel, I took a few moments in the ladies room to take off my makeup, take all the pins out of my hair, brush my teeth, and change into something a little sexier.
I'm always a bit shocked when people wear utilitarian underwear under their wedding dress as there are always sexier alternatives that work just as well (or better).
I'm wearing a gored-bust, corded corset (based on an 1873 pattern) with suspenders/garters, 1950s style non-stretch nylon seamed stockings and a pair of silk satin knickers either matching the burgundy corset or the gold dress.
It's not even about being sexy, but about feeling gorgeous on ever level.
I wouldn't wear anything cute under it. I was so sweaty that if we weren't exhausted, I would have wanted to clean up before sexy time.
@SpecialSundae: OMG I wouldn't even know what to do with one of those things, let alone all of those things you listed. I'm not even sure what they all are! You are a much braver soul than I. But if I remember right you are the one on here who wears lots of period costumes and stuff right? I don't know if costume is the right word or not but you know what I mean!
@MissAsB: Sexy underwear isn't just about getting down and dirty, though. Even if we aren't going to be having sex, wearing ugly underwear is for washing day or the worst point of my period.
@chasesgirl: I do wear a lot of retro clothes, but even before I did (and when I don't) I like to wear pretty lingerie. Stockings and suspenders have a reputation among women these days of being tricky to wear, but if they both fit they're much more comfortable than tights.
I wore super cute boy shorts under my dress. My gown had a built in corset, so I didn't need anything else. I also changed when we got back to the room because I had a little VS set...so actually the only people who saw the boyshorts were my bridesmaids helping me pee!

I was reading someone's post about wearing thigh high stockings under her dress, and it got me thinking, does anyone wear sexy stuff under their dress? Maybe not a full on babydoll lingerie set, but the garter and a garter belt? or the thigh high stockings with a garter belt?
Just trying to decide on how i want to dress so that i look really cute once the dress comes off, or do i just plan to change out of the dress then into lingerie...
