As the temperture reached about -40 last night (yikes!!) our water pipes froze. This morning I woke up around 6am to find that I had 45 mins to crawl under the house, plug in a space heater to defrost the pipes, take the dog out for his mornin business, eat breakfast, and get ready for work. Needless to say I was crunched for time and in desperate need of some beauty quick fixes.
This got me to thinking. What do you ladies do to look put together even if you only have a few minutes to spare? Do you have any secrets? Please share any wonderful products you have come across 🙂
This morning I washed my face with snow…yes snow…and pulled my hair back in a pony tail. I also added a bit of baby powder to my roots to take away any extra shine without acutally washing my hair. Makeup was a quick swipe of lip gloss, dap of concealor, and brush of mascara. Off I went!

i carry facewipes and babywipes everywhere i go, they’re really handy!since i now have stupid braces i carry a mini toothbursh and toothpaste in my bag, but for the mornings im in a rush i know i can just brush them at work since i have everything in my bag…. also i LOVE sample sizes if everything!!! mini moisturiser is a must, so i always carry that with me and lip balm… as for quick make up?? tinted moisturiser, blusher, eye liner and mascara, all sample sizes so they’re in my bag whenever i need them:)

if im running out the door and need to look awake, i normally run an ice cube over my face (especially under my eyes) and throw on some mascara and a touch of blush
and i always leave sample sizes of makeup in my desk and car so i have some kind of back-up if i get into sunlight and still look horrifying 😉

I have a couple brands of eyeshadow that are super low-maintenance to put on, so I typically swipe a single color on my lids with my finger, and then I put on lip gloss in the car (I wait for stop lights!).
I also carry a small tube of mascara and these little palettes from Stila around. They’re $10 and they have four eyeshadows and a convertible color that you can use for blush or lipstick.

Fun thread! My fave beauty fixes are:
-mix moisturizer with foundation for a custom tinted moisturizer that you can put on without a mirror
-always keep victoria’s secret lip gloss and clinique sample mascaras in my bag
-bronzer (I like Trish McEvoy’s)
-sparkly urban decay eyeliner makes you look awake and smudges nicely
-bobbi brown’s corrector in bisque (if i don’t have time for full concealer and just need my eyes to look less raccoon-y)
-Redken smooth down heat glide (i think that’s what it’s called) for frizzies

Great comments. Has anyone ever tried dry shampoo? I usually wash my hair every day so I generally don’t run into greasy strands, but on occasion I will brush a little bit of baby powder through my hair to reduce shine. I’ve heard that dry shampoo works even better than this method.
My hair stylist tried Bumble and Bumble Dry Shampoo on my hair once and I loved the effect. My hair was still clean the next day. I’m debating if I should buy a can of this stuff to save me on days like this! The new line comes with different tints so that you can’t see the powder in your hair.
