I'm not pregnant but when I was, my biggest cravings were green olives!!! I used to eat jars at a time. Oh and soy milk!
I'm only 5/6 weeks along but this week the one thing I really wanted was Cracker Barrel Sharp Cheddar Cheese with crackers. My poor husband went to two stores thinking they would have them but they did not so he got me some other sharp cheddar cheese. They were good but not as good.
Hm. Must have some now when I get home!
I've been lucky so far and haven't had a lot of cravings - but I did have my first "real" one a couple weeks ago. Where I'm from we have a local dish called a horseshoe - it's a piece of texas toast topped with some type of meat (usually hamburger, but I get a breaded chicken breast), topped with a fries smothered in cheese sauce. Essentially a heart attack on a plate!! But oh my goodness they are so good! I HAD to have one - and I usually only eat half of it, but I finished the ENTIRE THING!! Thank goodness I don't get those very often, I would have a 15 lb baby!!
Blueberries was my biggest craving. It didn't matter if it was the actual fruit itself or blueberry flavored things like popsicles, syrup, pancakes, bagels, cream cheese, etc. I also started wanting chocolate milk. I'm always a plain milk kind of gal but during pregnancy, it had to be chocolate milk.
I always wanted snowballs or popsicles in the beginning of my pregnancy. And towards the end it's been milk, regular or chocolate, but usually chocolate.
When I was pregnant it was pineapple, apple juice and chinese food! :)
Mineral water! Something about the bubbles just does it for me at a time when I can't have my diet pepsi :-)
Fro-yo, Bacon, chocloate milk, Ribs, anything sweet....mexican.
Here's another chocolate milk vote, it seems to be magic.
Also, pumpkin anything, cheese enchiladas and apples. Apple sauce, juice or just raw apples, I can't get enough.
Today I craved a Whopper from Burger King at 10:30 am!!!! Thankfully this is not a regular thing but i had one. I can honestly remember the last time I ate one. It was "99 and after freshman year of highschool orientation...
Last week or so it has been soup. I just want soup all the time, for lunch, for dinner. And only like a specific kind, like a lighter soupier soup, not creamy soups.
My wonderful husband is making me his famous chicken noodle soup this weekend and Pasta Fagioli next weekend. Yum! :)
Tonight I'm making oxtail soup for tomorrow night's dinner.
I am total sweet eater but in my first tri and part of my second I wanted NOTHING to do with sweets, well now that I am 26 weeks, that has come back with a vengence! AWFUL
For a couple weeks around week 12 - 16, I was non stop craving cesear salad, I ate it everynight for dinner for probably 4 weeks. Then I went on to minestrone soup, I couldn't get enough of it!
Now it's sweets and cheese! I never ate much cheese before but I could just sit here and eat it ALL day, not good. I do have some healthy cravings, watermelon and peaches but that seems to be fading as my sweet tooth is increasing :(
I craved watermelon, all the time. Also, ice water with lemon juice squirted in. YUM!
In my first trimester, it was Arby's. I couldn't stand the thought of anything else. Now, I'm 14 weeks and it's been soup and ribs. Luckily, I'm passed the horrible nausea phase, so I can force myself to eat more fruits and veggies. Also, I normally have a huge sweet tooth, but like PP said, I really don't want anything sweet now. I guess I'm in for it later on!!
When I was pregnant it was Taco Bell beef mexi-melts (now I think they are gross), lemon meringue pie, and grapefruit (at least 5 a day).
i am very newly pregnant, but i think i just had my first craving yesterday----PIRATE'S BOOTY!!!!
and i usually hate that stuff....
@eurekaanchovies: hahaha I feel that way somedays too! But it's always bad food!
@secondchances & ustechie: Now I want curly fries, and a nacho supreme. Ugh.
My biggest craving has been for McDonald's, but I try to very very rarely give in. Also on the list are pickles (yup, so sterotypical but true), green olives, swedish fish, diet pepsi (killing me not to have it), and basically anything someone mentions or eats in front of me that sounds really good. Right now I'm on a Subway kick.
I am not a huge sweets-eater, but during the first trimester, I wanted dessert a little more frequently than usual. My husband is the one who noticed it - I think I was sort of looking for something to fill the void left by alcohol, passing on the glass of wine or beer during dinner every. single. night. was not easy!
I'm a little jealous of you ladies, an acquantaince was talking this weekend about what pleasure she gets from eating the food she is craving. Don't get me wrong, I like to eat, but I kind of want to have a craving so I can have that pleasure of fulfilling it! :)
I've been craving cheese and jolly ranchers lately (separately). I'm 7 weeks.

I seriously cannot get enough cherry and blue raspberry laffy taffy. I know that's terrible, but it's soooooo good! Yum! What are some of yours?
