Don't get me wrong, I love me a good classic like A Christmas Story, It's A Wonderful Life, etc.

But just wonderng what are some of your favorite "non classic" holiday movies?

Some of mine include Elf with Will Ferrell and The Holiday with Cameron Diaz. Love Actually is one of those that I've yet to watch the whole movie in one sitting!

The Santa Clause with Tim Allen the original not the subsequent ones.  I also like Christmas with the Kranks also with Tim Allen.  Looks like I'm a Tim Allen fan maybe lol.

@zippylef: I love Christmas Vacation! My favorite movie! :)

This isn't really a Christmas movie, but I love to watch Uncle Buck around this time of the year. It's a really funny movie.

@zippylef: Hahahaha.  That is pretty hysterical.

One of my favorites is Elf.  I know I have more, but my brain isn't working yet.

Home For The Holidays with Holly Hunter and Robert Downey Jr.  It is technically a Thanksgiving movie I guess, but we always watch it at some point between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

One Magic Christmas.  My mom and I used to watch it every year at Christmas time, and it's still one of my faves!

@zippylef: We always watch that when decorating our tree. It's one of the most quoted movies around our house.  Laughing

Christmas Story is another one we watch a lot, and Planes, Trains and Automobiles get's watched between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

@eeniebeans: Home For the Holidays is one of my friend's top holiday movies too. I have never seen it. I'll have to add it to the list this year.

What's traditional?  Rudolph?  Frosty?  The Grinch?  The Nutcracker (with Gelsey Kirkland and Mikhail Baryshnikov)? Miracle on 34th St? Ok, I watch all those.

I love the one's mentioned - National Lampoon's, Elf.  How about Planes, Trains, and Automobiles?  I also love Emmet Otter's Jugband Christmas.  Still have it on VHS.

Elf and Home Alone would probably have to be my non-traditional favorites.

I can't get enough of holiday movies! I really like the cartoon versions of A Christmas Carol like the muppets one and the old tv version that has Mickey and the other Disney characters in it.

Love Actually is great, as so many of you are saying! I also love Bridget Jones's Diary, which isn't techinically a Christmas movie but it begins and ends on Christmas so I tend to count it anyway.

I also love The Snowman. It makes me cry but that's okay. :)

Christmas Vacation is definitely #1. I love Elf and Home Alone too. I also just LOVE the cheesy made for TV ones they show on Lifetime, Hallmark, and ABC Family. I could seriously spend a whole weekend in Dec on the couch watching them. I have the DVR set up to record like 20 of them right now!
