@lightmist:  Ikea actually is pretty fabulous. our furniture is really beautiful and modern for being on the cheaper end.

@funkybutton:  We love love love Restoration Hardware, West Elm, Crate and Barrel, Z Gallerie, and Pottery Barn.  BUT heaven forbid can’t afford any of them.  We actually just bought a sectional from Macy’s.  It was way cheaper than above listed places and has just as good quality.  It also came with a protection plan and warranty (on all pieces).  I shopped and waited for 6 months until it went on major sale.  Well worth it!  We love Macy’s most for big, long term furniture purchases.  Other stuff we like Ikea (knowing we get what we pay for), Target, and HomeGoods.

Our condo is furnished using pieces from West Elm, CB2, EQ3 (Canadian and amazing), and Ikea. We tend to buy our accessories from more expensive shops like Design Within Reach, while our big ticket furniture options are from the aforementioned budget-friendly stores.

If I had unlimited dollars, everything would come from Design Within Reach.

@funkybutton:  Those are cool but since your dogs go on the couch, if they shed then all those little button areas are going to build up dog hair like belly button lint! You will be cleaning them alot.

It costs like $100-200 to have couch pillows professionally restuffed. You may not need a new couch.

If you do decide to go that route, I LOVE CB2 couches! They are made with kiln dried hardwood (the good stuff!) and made in the USA. They are having a 15% off sale on a lot of their couches right now, too.

Crate and Barrel (CB2 is “Crate and Barrel 2”) is also awesome, if a bit more expensive.

This local place, and also American Freight.

We usually really hate furniture stores because the people in there follow you around like hawks, trying to make a sale.
