@wildflowerbee:  Vinegar is the best! For everything!

A “remedy” I swear by is D-mannose pills for UTIs. I’ve “cured” at least 3 over the years just by taking a capsule every few hours and drinking a ton of water. Way better than going to the doctor and taking antibiotics!

@wildflowerbee:  We use vinegar and water mixed together to clean glass in our house. We also are big on essential oils but not just any old kind from health food stores. We use ones that can actually be ingested. So for stomach aches or clogged sinuses we’ll use peppermint oil. For my husband’s back pain we use peppermint and lemongrass. I also make soap with lavender in it.

@wildflowerbee:  Eucalyptus oil is great for calming a cough, way better than Vicks. DH has asthma and gets a terrible nighttime cough twice a year, which leaves him dry heaving over the toilet for an hour at night becuase of the coughing fits. I take eucalyptus oil, put 4 drops on each of the heels of his feet, rub it in, and place socks on his feet and he sleeps through the night with no coughs. It doesn’t “cure” the coughing, but it allows him to get a restful night’s sleep and calm his chest from hurting. We haven’t tried it during the day, so I am not sure if it would work all the time.

I also make http://nancyvienneau.com/blog/articles/home-remedy/ this horrible, nasty ass concoction (well, nasty to me becuase it’s a bit spicy) when DH has a cough or sore throat, lol. It was an actual Pintrest pin that I found useful. He loves it.

I clean everything with vinegar. Sometimes if I’m feeling nice, I soak orange peels in the vinegar then strain it so it at least smells ok (FI hates the vinegar smell)

I clean all oyr glass with a wet coffee filter then a dry one. It takes a little more elbow grease but they come out so shiny and chemical free so bonus!

Its not totally natural but a bit better than laundry soap. Borax and washing soda for laundry, with grated bar soap.

Our cold and flu remedy around here is rigorous rounds of steeped garlic and ginger with cayenne pepper. Works like a charm. Ginger tea with honey and lemon for throat soothing. Or echinacea tea. And homemade soup until you’re better 😉
