I’m make-up illiterate! I was in a wedding this past weekend and I really liked what the MUA did. She used Stila eyeshadows, so I went out and bought the same pallette she used. Hopefully it won’t end up being a waste!
So tell me, what are your go-to/ gotta have ’em beauty products?

@futuremrs1986: Urban Decay naked eye shadow pallette and primer, Tarte blushes, and Stila liquid eye liner. I used a variety everywhere else.
Btw, stila shadows are great too.

Too Faced eye shadow primer, Urban Decay eyeshadows (I use the Naked palette and the Glinda palette almost all the time! I have to make myself use my other shadows now) and Urban Decay eyeliners.

A really good primer. For events, it can make a huuuge difference in how nice your skin looks. I use the Too Faced one, but people also love the Hourglass Mineral Veil. I recently switched to Cover FX for foundation and I’m very happy with it. It’s a really natural finish.
My other must-have product is Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner. They really do stay put! All others will smudge onto my contact lenses if I use them on my waterline, and I end up not being able to see!

@futuremrs1986: I don’t wear make-up, but I’m all about Burt’s Bees lip balm, pretty much any variety. I go through tons of it (esp. since I tend to leave it in my pockets when I do the laundry!).

Thanks for all the tips ladies! Keep em coming!
I had a facial a couple weeks ago and teh used Jane Iredale make-up. My MUA last week also used this for my foundation. Anyone use this line regularly?

I love my clarisonic, but for most makeup, I buy drugstore brands, except for foundation. You can use cheap concealer stick like Wet n Wild as a eye shadow primer, and L’oreal has some very pigmented shadow colors. Nars All-over stick in Orgasm is a great color also.

and also organic honey as a facewash if you have sensitive or acne prone skin,

I have to have eyeliner…I usually use a kohl pencil or the self-sharpening ones. Most common drug store brands are fine, I really like the Rimmel one.
Mascara…I usually use whatever I can get at Walgreens/Walmart at the time. However, I recently saw E.L.F brand (sold at Target and online) Mascara at Dollar Tree and bought it just to see. Hands down, best mascara I’ve used! I have an E.L.F. eyeshadow palette that is amazing too.
I ended up buying a few higher end things to do my own make-up for my wedding since my friend/MUA had to work the day of my wedding. She helped me find some things at Ulta. My fave is Benefit’s HOOLA bronzing powder. It works so well for contouring and really makes my blush pop.
My normal daily make-up routine: Garnier Moisturizer, Neutrogena pressed powder, HOOLA bronzing contour, blush (currently using Covergirl), eyeshadow/liner/mascara.
For more dressy occasions, I use the Too-faced finishing powder, Benefit Foundation, and concealer.
