Dexter is a black and tan mini dachshund. He likes to sleep like a person with his body under the covers and his head on the pillow. He also loves to be the little spoon. We used to have his food and water sitting just inside his kennel and whenever he was out of water, he would pull his bed out of the kennel to let us know.

Quincy is an american english coonhound and we call him derp for a reason. He thinks he’s small and tries to walk all over people, including punching people in the face with his giant paws, he just doesn’t understand the concept of snuggling. He’s also extremely scared of loud noises. One time when we started a walk there was a small board that blew over and made a clapping sound on the neighbors porch. For weeks after that he would fight us and we would have to haul him outside to go on a walk, he would pull like crazy to get past the neighbors porch before calming down. I slipped in the shower one day and make a crashing noise (I’m fine, just clumsy) and he’s still afraid of the shower.

I have a 4 year old corgi girl. I like to pick on her because I like her reaction. I will call her over and let her put her paws up to me. Then I will poke the top of her snout with my finger (gently, of course) and say, “Boop!” Then I will put my hand down and look away as if she’s not there. She immediately digs her nose under my hand to get my attention for petting. I don’t know why I think that’s so cute. I just do! 🙂

ShabbyChicBee:  They sound ADORBS! Pix!

Riley – beagle mix – you know how dogs shake their whole bodies from nose to butt? He mostly only does his butt! Shake that booty!

Squirt – chi/jack russell mix – super smart, learned to lay in front of the heater when it’s cold, goes into the crate without being asked, and his ears have a mind of their own and are always moving.

Sammy – total tiny mutt – likes to root around in his blanket and will put it in his mouth to help him move it around.

LOVE my babeeez!!

soontobebe:  My parents have two corgis and one of them will do this nonstop. I swear she will keep “asking” you to pet her head forever. You eventually just have to hide your hands to get up and move to get her to stop!

SithLady:  Lol yep. Once she gets a bit of petting, if you try to stop, she will do the nose thing again and again. I tell her, “Nnnnnnno. You’re being a greedy Poopie! No more for now.” She will look at me and try to decide if I mean it and either get down on her own or keep hoping until I tell her to go ahead and get down.

We’ve got 2 cats… I’ve had them since kittens and both are turning 15 in 2015 so as you can imagine, I know them QUITE well.

The male… he’s huge.  Loves: chicken, laying in front of the fireplace, drinking water or pawing at it, eating dry leaves, laying on his back, tormenting the female, meowing really loudly, purring really loudly, looking out the window, sleeping under the covers of our bed (if we forget to close the door).  Hates: the doorbell, people he doesn’t know (he hides behind the furnace), loud noises.

The female… she’s tiny.  Loves: SHRIMP (she is obsessed), laying on mine or DH’s lap, exploring the back yard, car rides (especially fun at a drive thru), catching flies, watching guests, rolling on carpet, laser lights.  Hates: the male harassing her, being moved off a lap, being picked up (even though I can make her purr almost instantly, she still squirms and meows until I put her down).

Neither one of them are allowed catnip, it seriously makes them insane!

Buddy – Greyhound ‘lurcher’ – i think hes mixed with a pointer but really cant be sure. Hes my giant baby and I loooove him. He’s got so much attitude, and is a giant suck. I always say he reminds me of a toddler stuck in a dogs body. he gets grouchy when hes over tired, hasnt eaten, hasnt gotten enough mom time, etc. Hes very particular and very vocal. Sleep probably 22 hours a day. Hes far too smart for his own good – when we take him to doggy daycare for an overnight stay he has to be in his kennel because he knows how to open the gates. He will get out and then let the other dogs out and play all night. Despite being so smart, hes so stubborn and responds to commands when he so chooses.

Jax – Husky/American Eskimo/Golden Retriever Mutt. Hes an awesome dog, but just kind of dumb. Super duper trainable, and learns things within a few tries. But is just dumb. He chases his shadow and reflections off his dog tags for hours. In the summer the sun hits our back door and makes a reflection that bounces across the yard when you open the door. Its next to impossible to get him back into the house when this happens. Hes a really good dog, even if he does think ‘poop-sicles’ are a tasty winter treat

Wrinks HATES being in the house and will stomp his paws impatiently near the slider if I try to keep him inside with me.

Sable will eat anything under the sun.  Once I came home to her eating a half box of coco-puffs and was pretty sure she was going to die that night.  Luckily she must have an iron stomach or cocopuffs don’t have much chocolate because she was her happy self with absolutely no damage.

Arjen is terrified of everything.  Last weekend he ran away in fear from my wedding dress and cowered downstairs until the dress was gone.  He’s also terrified of my security company’s sign in the front yard.  Such a scaredy pup.
