My FI and I may be a little different. We were never big on valentines day so we always got each other horror movies and watched them while ordering take out.

But some other ideas would be to go away for the weekend, or do something outdoors. A picnic maybe since it looks like you’re in a warm area. Go to a museum, go to a state park, see a play.

What do you usually do for dates?

We are oddballs. This  year we are getting Publix fried chicken to have chicken and waffles and then doing chocolate fondue (we have a fondue pot at home). We are exchaning cards, love letters, and small gifts. I am getting him a mixed pack of specialty beers 🙂

We’re a little odd.  Every Valentine’s weekend there is one of the largest Doctor Who conventions here in LA so we spend the weekend there.  This year I’m getting my FI a copy of Shakespeare’s Julius Caeser with two tickets to see the play at the Globe in London on our honeymoon in August.

@ddsfam:  We trade off planning these sorts of things. Last year I planned Valentine’s and he planned our anniversary. Now it’s his turn for Valentine’s. I don’t know what we’re doing yet. It’ll be a surprise. All I know is that whatever it is will be active enough that I should get dolled up. Just jeans and a t-shirt at best. I’m excited to find out.

We are going to go out to dinner and to see a movie. We dont’ go out all that often so thats special for us.  If he’s got half a brain he’ll get me flowers and a card. lol. and Im sure i’ll come up with some kind of chocolates or desert to get him. Idk he complains that Valentines day is a girls holiday so i gotta come up with something to do for him other then the basic chocolates… We’re broke so that doesn’t help the situation. lol.

We’re both working, so he is buying me a ticket to The Presets (they aren’t touring til May, but they’re on sale now) and I bought him a game he really wanted. We don’t really do much for V Day.
