What are your ring insecurities?

@ladyamalthea:  I’ll play. I do LOVE my ring. Sometimes I wish the band was either more interesting or plain. This has mostly come from the fact that the only wedding band which made sense with my ring is my plain, milgrained band or a matching diamond band. No room for anything really fun.

@ladyamalthea:  I say the biggest insecurity I have had I the quality of my diamond. Pretty much from being around these ring boards TOO MUCH! You know, it gets to the point that I felt like everyone has a perfect stone and mine isn’t. Since feeling that way, I’ve spoken with jewelers who all tell me my stone is very nice. Comparison is the thief of joy, so I’ve learned. These days, I’m so happy and proud with the Ering my FI worked to buy for me with so muCh love. Your ring is beautiful, btw 🙂

@jpalm13:  Are you kidding! Your set is beautiful! I love how dainty it is and the diamonds on your ERing sparkle! I love it!

@ladyamalthea:  I personally love your ring! I get the unique comment too.

I had the “to small” insecurities from my first ring, first husband. Not because it was “to small” for me it was a (1/3ct) but the fact that he spent WAY more on his “toys” than he ever did on me. And everyone around me had bigger/better rings. Made me feel “not good enough” to have a guy sacrifice for me like that. Not that I thought I deserved it or anything. I kept it all inside of course. He ended up having an affair later after we were married (selfish basterd). Good riddance.

My DH was determined to “do better” for me in every way. When it came to ring shopping, he was determined on getting me whatever I wanted when/if we had the funds to do so.

So now, after alot of tweeking, I finally have my forever set. But, there really arn’t alot of people who love it like I do..lol But I don’t like what most people like anyway.

@ladyamalthea:  I love your ring! It definitely is unique but definitely NOT ugly! I love that it’s not something you see everyday.

@jpalm13:  I love the plain band with your ring. I think your e-ring really is the feature and the plain band compliments that so well.

I’ll play! First off, I love my ring. It’s exactly what I asked for. However, that doesn’t stop some snarky comments I’ve recieved about the center size from bumming me out a little. Of course, I’ve recieved about 100 positive comments for every negative one, but still. Words hurt! I’ve had a few people tell me that my diamond is small (it’s .5 ct) or that my setting is simple because my FI and I “rushed” into getting engaged right out of college. Meanwhile, we’ve been togeter for 6 years… not to mention that my diamond is nearly perfect, and is small because I chose quality over size. People are such buttheads sometimes.

@ladyamalthea:

I have insecurities about my wedding ring. I LOVE it. Both FI and I agree that it is very “me”- dainty with a vintage flare. It is currently being made for me- YAY!

But we are the only people who like it. Everyone around me thinks a wedding ring must be plain to be a wedding ring. I get the forced tight smiles from people when they see photos. It was a hard decision to go with my heart and not listen to everyone else.

I also have a slight insecurity about whether they would work as a “set”. I pray they will look nice together.

I’m insecure about it because I feel like I don’t “deserve” such a nice ring. I know people look at it and wonder how FI was able to afford such a nice ring when he’s still in law school. No one has said anything like that to me, and again, I’m very insecure about how much money FI spent, so maybe I’m just projecting that onto other people.

Plus, I’m not very into jewelry and knew next to nothing about diamonds, so again, I don’t feel like I deserve such a nice one!

@ladyamalthea:  @linnylou_88:   @SarahTee:  Thanks, ladies! I do love her. I really wanted something that played off the tulip head of my ering. I can always get something later.

@ladyamalthea:  I would say that your ring is unique and it would be a huge compliment, coming from me! I especially love the engraving on the band!

@linnylou_88:  Nearly ring twins! I love that wedding band! I was thinking of getting something similar as well! I think it will look wonderful with your e-ring and can also look gorgeous on it’s own.
