What are your thoughts on wearing an eternity/anniversary band as an engagement ring? I am a minimalist when it comes to jewelry and I think I would like the simplistic look. I would probably wear it with a plain wedding band. Does anyone have any pics of their eternity bands? Anyone wear them as their engagement ring? Here are some pictures of some that I like. 🙂

I think it’s a great idea! I really love the 5 stone u prong band, I think that would look fantastic as an ering and worn with a plain band! There is a bee who just got an incredible 5 stone champagne diamond ring in rose gold, it’s stunning!

Inlove86: love the idea! I have a five stone similar to the first one but the new wedding bee isn’t letting me post my saved photos 🙁

Inlove86: I’m definitely the kinda girl that thinks you can wear whatever makes you happiest! No need to conform to a diamond solitaire or whatever is considered the “norm”. All lovely choices! I like the baguette one, it’s a little different.

Here is the thread with the beautiful 5 stone!
wrkbrk: That is probably my least favorite part of this new site!

mrsmay07: ugh. It will be corrected right? A lot of the pics I had on here I didn’t save anywhere else!

I think it will look STUNNING! So elegant!

I think it will look great. I wear two of my wedding bands together sometimes instead of a wedding band and an engagement ring and it creates a similiar look to what you are considering. Its really simple and pretty. Go for it 🙂

I think it would be lovely! When Joe DiMaggio proposed to Marilyn Monroe, he gave her an eternity band. If it’s good enough for Marilyn Monroe… lol

I do have a half eternity ring as my ering (channel set wedding band actually). FI wanted something that I could wear comfortably for the rest of my life. It’s very lovely and understated and perfect for those people who don’t want a lot of fuss (and that 5 stone ring you posted is gorgeous!). Just as a heads up, with this style of ering there will be some very hurtful comments. I like to smile and thank them politely for their thoughts on the matter. Makes them madder. 🙂

I think it’s a great idea for a minimalist. I looooove the baguette ring you posted, but they are all lovely. I probably wouldn’t do the eternity one if you are planning on wearing it for the rest of your life on the same finger, since your finger size might change and you wouldn’t be able to size it.

Thanks everyone for your comments!! That rose gold 5 stone ring is gorgeous! I am also a firm believer in wearing what makes you happy regardless of what others might think (or say!).

I LOVE that idea.. I was actually going to do that, but the hubby is buying me a moissanite engagement ring as an anniversary gift. I looked at bands and all.. I LOVE LOVE LOVE, the 7 stone one and the eternity one!!! The 7 stone would be so pretty, and when you wed, get a 2mm plain band to go with it. I LOVE that look.. LoL.. But, totally is okay to have a diamond band.

I say go for it!
Originally I wanted an Anniversary Band as my engagement ring, but changed my mind (I wanted a ring that both him and I would like, since he was paying for it, and he didn’t love the Anniversary band style). I got a halo. I knew within a few months I should have gone with the Anniversary band, as like you I wanted something more minimalist. Valentine’s Day hubby finally got me a 5 stone, and I LOVE it. I wear it every day by itself, and it’s very practical – I never have to take it off. I’m biased, but the great thing about a 5 stone is it’s blingy, plus you have no stones or prongs between your fingers, so it’s comfortable. It will also be lower maintenance than an eternity ring. Here’s mine (each stone’s 3.5mm, and it’s a size 5.25, to give you an idea of scale. It should be similar to the 1 carat size)

Inlove86: i have 2 bands; one is a 4ctw full eternity band and the other is a plain band. when i don’t feel like wearing my ering, i wear those 2 bands together all of the time. i love them together. still lots of bling but low profile. perfect.
