What are your thoughts on cape veils?

While I think they can be stunning, it’s not me so I wouldn’t wear one. That said I don’t think I’ll be wearing a veil at all so you can’t really take my word for it, haha!

I love capes, in generally, but I doubt I would wear a sheer one. I like them because they help keep me warm and a sheer one wouldn’t really help with that. But I certainly didn’t need extra warmth on my wedding day, so I guess it’s a moot point. I didn’t wear a traditional veil on my wedding day, but I have worn veils on hats to other occasions.

My mom wore one on her wedding day, and my sister and I totally mocked it so much.  We were both shocked when capes were coming back in style.. and I must say that the modern take on them are beautiful (just don’t tell my mom I said that.. lol)

TheHappyWife:  I actually have one myself, I think they are stunning but it takes a certain person to be able to pull them off. Here’s my dress on the runway. Mine isn’t as sheer as the ones you posted, mine actually has about 7 layers of silk tule, but it’s completely gorgeous!

In jest, I would be secretly running around my bridal suite like a superhero if I was wearing one of those. (“Superbride!”) But in all seriousness, those are gorgeous, and if I was taller than 5’3″ I would consider one. They look beautiful on the models.

I think they are gorgeous when they are done – and worn – well.

TheHappyWife:  I’m on board with cloaks at cool weather weddings and such, but I don’t really like the look of cape veils. I think the fact that they are sheer is one of the major things that’s throwing me off.

I’m betting some people may not like this, but I love this look:

For a winter wedding like the pic above but not for a wedding for me it’s too gimicky

I have honestly never heard of “cape veils” until this moment

Never seen the tulle kind but if at my winter wedding it hadn’t been 75F I would have loved to wear a cape like the one in the snow. For real, warm and dramatic,   waayyyy cooler looking than a peacoat but tragically thinking they won’t make a comeback.

I’ve been looking at them for some time. If I can find one that isn’t too expensive I think I will wear one.
