I twirl 12 pound fiberglass rifles. Think Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon, minus the bayonets.
I also write acrostic poems (where it spells something down the left-hand side) in perfect, rhyming iambic pentameter.
Clearly this is not boding well for my job search. So what cool things do you guys do that no one will ever in a million years employ you for?

I am good at quoting from movies and books. For example “It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife.” is the first line in Pride and Prejudice.
I also like figuring out the connections between actors who are in the same movie, besides that movie. Like Geoffrey Rush and Keira Knightley are in Pirates of the Caribbean together. Well Geoffrey Rush was in The King’s Speech with Colin Firth, and Colin Firth plays Mr Darcy in Pride and Prejudice, Keira Knightley plays Elizabeth Bennett in a different version of Pride and Prejudice.
Plus I love logic puzzles and sudoku.

I can talk faster than anyone could possibly hope to understand. Which is ironic because when I was in elem school I had a terrible stutter.

@Jacqui90: I’m pretty good at quotes too, but mostly from Harry Potter. No shame. And the movie thing reminds me of the 5 degrees of Kevin Bacon!

@Miss Fish: I twirled rifles for high school colorguard (with the marching band)! can also do tricks with flags and sabre. can’t imagine anyone employing me for that, except to maybe coach!
I can also do a scorpion, but was too tall to be a flyer when I cheered.

I am an expert dance follower. I can seriously dance to anything without knowing what the steps are as long as I have a man to follow. Ballroom, Latin, country doesn’t matter. Definitely not a resume enhancing skill.

@Miss Fish: Yeah for some reason I get obsessed at times with figuring them out, not as bad as I used to be though lol.

@baileyjosephine: That’s what I did, too! Except that our lines were divided- Flag line had 8 girls, Rifle line had 8 girls, and Color Guard had 5 girls (US, Ohio, and town flag + 2 sabres). It makes me sad that I had to pick just one, but rifles made me feel like a BAMF.

I can say the alphabet backwards faster than most people can say it forwards.

Does being able to run up a wall and do a flip count as a useless skill, or a skill even? I’m also VERY good at climbing ropes. Yay useless!

You know those snow globes with the golf ball inside that you’re supposed to try to get on the tee? Yeah, I’m really good at that. 100% useless but a fun skill because everyone hates me when they spend 10+ minutes trying to get it and I get it in under 2-3 or sometimes even on the first try.

@MeghanFly: Um yes that is COMPLETELY a skill. Sometimes I like to ironically yell “HARDCORE PARKOUR!” and use one leg to push myself off the wall and into the bed (2 feet away from the wall). I feel like your skill would make my life so much more fun.
@juliana192: I’m jelly. I always ragequit those things.
OH OH OH I have another skill. I can drive all three laps of Rainbow Road on Mario Kart without falling off ONCE.

I can have whole conversations quoting songs and movies.

I can also play piano but not good enough to actually be useful. Like I can play anything I want to play… but can’t play by fluent sight reading. I cannot sit and immediately play just any sheet music set in front of me. I have to memorize note by note till I can play an entire song by memory. Pretty useless as far as piano talent goes.

@Miss Fish: I can physically restrain someone that is under 150lbs. This was helpful at my previous job but not really useful now unless I get attacked by someone very small lol. Also, I am super good at crossing my eyes and i can recite stella luna (a childrens book) by heart.
