It’s common in the weddings I’m in for the ushers to wear the same thing as the groomsmen. Mainly because most ushers I know are family members (brothers) that didn’t make the groomsmen cut… but still needed a tux for family pictures! I think black or grey is fine 🙂

But what if the ushers aren’t in the family and are just good friends? Should they wear tuxes if the groomsmen are in tuxes?

What if they wear black suits? And give them a boutiniere? And maybe buy them a tie that matches the wedding colors?????

My ushers are my brothers and I’m pretty sure that they are just going to wear a suit. I think it’s too much to ask my one brother to get a tux since his 2 sons are my ringbearers. Plus I want the groomsmen and ushers to look different. Ok… with that said do I need boutonnieres for them?

Our groomsmen are wearing black pinstripe pants and vest with ties that we give them.  We’re thinking to have the groomsmen in just black dress pants and a white shirt – I’m thinking we’ll give them a tie to wear that will help coordinate with the groomsmen

@Ambrocked: Thanks for your suggestion. I think I’ve decided to have them both wear the same color suit with the same tie the groomsmen are wearing. I have also decided to do boutonnieres for them as well. Thanks again!
