We are going to have an awesome surprise entrance! Our venue has pocket doors that lead from the cocktail area into the reception room, which is where the bridal party will enter during announcements.
After the bridal party is announced, the lights are going to shut down and the music will cut to silence.
At this exact moment (building suspense here too, huh?) FI and I will sneak onto the dance floor from an outside door, which will be behind everyone, at the opposite side of the room. So the guests will be looking north and we're sneaking in south. Then, the lights will turn on and Frank Sinatra will be singing "I did it myyyyyyyy wayyyyyyyy" (sound bite). Then we will do our first dance!
Well nearly everything is a suprise because i'm not sharing any infor with anyone unless they are involved and need to people...
I'm giving out 3 different favors.. the pastries from the FMIL that I wrote about yesterdy, which I have now decided to put in chinse take out boxes wrapped with ribbon, jordan almonds in pillow boxes and DIY fans.
I have some very talented people in my bridal party so the bridesmaids and groomsmen will be doing a choreographed dance to enter the reception hall
I cant think of anything else out of the ordinary except that my table numbers are really wooden letters.. lol
I don't have anything yet but I love the paint by numbers idea, that is so cute!
We had tons by my favorite one's were the cookies and milk we served at 11pm :) we did the milk school lunch style

My Dad and I are dancing to a fast song as our father daughter dance. That's really the only thing we're purposely not telling people, but I also put a lot of thought and effort into making all of the details really special and personal. I think our guests will be pretty surprised by all the little things.
FH and I are taking dance lessons for our first dance - my mom is a HUGE fan of all those dancing shows so seeing me actually KNOW how to dance instead of my usual "High School Dance" method is going to be great!
A photo booth and we're super stocking it up with stuff that represents our friends and family - flags from the countries represented, favourite team shirts, etc.
Hmm...this is making me want to have MORE surprises!
@KristenGotMarried: Love the macaroons. Yummy!
Hopefully FI and I will dance the foxtrot for our first dance....

Another thread got me thinking about wedding surprises. Some ladies were saying that they didn't want to share too many details about their weddings because they wanted to keep some surprises for the guests. Made me think: Hey KristenGettingMarried, what are YOUR surprises?
So far here's what I have:
A custom paint by number (either of me and MJ, or one of our photos from a trip, etc) forguests to paint during the reception. Like this:
My reception space, for those who haven't ever been to the Palm House at the Conservatory (the lights slowly change color all night, the roof is all glass, and well, there's a million palm trees):
Insanely, utterly delicious 'macaroons' (ridiculous ice cream in between even more absurd cookies) for a late night treat:
And sweet little favors that are doubling as centerpieces - guests are going to be encouraged to take one of these home with them as a living memory of our day. Any extras/left overs will be donated to a nursing home.
Like this, but smaller in scale for transport :)
What are YOUR surprises? C'mon... tell us. Your secret is safe with the Hive! ;)
