Hi all, so what are your plans for this weekend? As for me, when I get off work tonight, I plan on watching Django Unchained, reading my new book titled “Think Twice” by Lisa Scottoline (Which seems to be fantastic so far!) and catching up on shows on my DVR. I’m not seeing BF until Sunday and while I’ll miss him, it will be nice to get a little time to myself and to do whatever lol.
Tomorrow, I’m driving over to my parents’ house to visit them for a while and to see our family dog, Sally, who was hit by a car last Saturday. Fortunately she is okay for the most part. No internal injuries but she did blow out her knee in her back hind leg 🙁 and she had a lot of road rash so she had to have surgery to stitch the skin back together. Sorry if that’s TMI, btw…anyway, she came home from the vet on Tuesday and now she is just recovering at home. I’m almost afraid to see her tomorrow because my mother says she looks pretty pitiful. But at least she will live and recover back from this.
Bf has the whole day off on Sunday so we are spending the whole day together. Not sure yet what we’re gonna do but we’ll think of something. My apartment complex just opened the pool so we may go swimming. We shall see!
So what about y’all, what are your plans?

@LadyBlackheart: That is a great book. I read it a few years ago and remember really enjoying it.
I am enjoying an early birthday present tomorrow night. FI bought me tickets to Luke Bryan so I will be spending the day/night at the concert!

Absolutely nothing!! Not a damn thing and I couldn’t be happier! We have been super busy for the past four weekends in a row and went out of town for the the past two, so I can’t wait to just go home and relax.
Aww your poor puppy! I’m glad to hear that she’s mostly ok but that’s so sad. Give her lots of cuddles!

@LadyBlackheart: Awwwww I’m glad your dog is (mostly) ok, how terrible! Also, I’m really jealous of your apt. complex having a pool! I lived at one that did and hardly ever used it but boy do I miss it now!
We had a family event cancelled at the last minute due to illness so I think we’re going to get groceries and I need to finish at least one more chapter in my book – I left off at a REALLY good part during my lunch hour and I can’t stop thinking about it!
Saturday we’re taking a pistol class to get us the certification for a CCW permit, that’s an 8-hour day killer so nothing else and then Sunday we’re going to meet a DOGGIE WE MIGHT ADOPT!!!!
I’m so excited, but trying to act like I’m not because there are other interested families. But we were told by the foster mom that we have the advantage because we have a fenced in yard so please wish me luck bees. I’m worried about what to do to impress the foster into thinking we’re the right family for this dog. How could you make that decision? ugh!

My DH is at his parents place in ND for the weekend, for a golf tournament. So it is just my little boy and I this weekend. My parents are camping in southern MN so as of right now the plan is to take little boy down to see them for the day on Saturday.

This weekend is the last time FI and will have time together for the next 2 weeks. Tonight we’re going on a date to dinner and a movie. We haven’t picked which movie yet, but we’re leaning towards the new Star Trek. Tomorrow we’re starting a Risk Legacy group with my ex-roommate who has been dying to play this game and has been struggling to get a group together. My other ex-roommate got kicked out last night and I was subbed in this morning. On Sunday FI and I are going wild mushroom hunting because the morels should be in season now. I also plan on finishing the Codex Alera series by Jim Butcher I’m on book 5 out of 6 right now. It should be a good weekend.

@LadyBlackheart: We’re in for a fun weekend!
Tomorrow we’ll brunch it up, and then probably go to the farmer’s market. Then we’re heading to our city’s rose garden, it’s really beautiful in late spring (they have over 130 different varieties of roses!)
We’ll probably have some wine and watch a movie that night.
Sunday we’ll hang around the house, catching up on cleaning, and doing our Sunday morning tradition: homemade cinnamon rolls. Then we might head downtown and have a long walk.
Can’t wait for some time with my dear, sweet hubs!

Thanks guys, I definitely plan on cuddling her a lot! My parents took her in when I was 16 and she became the family dog. I miss her a lot since I moved out of my parents’ house. She is such a sweetheart!
She’s a black lab and seriously, one of the smartest dogs I’ve ever seen. I may be biased but it’s the truth! Lol.
She was very lucky though. She actually got hit by a truck and I’m amazed she didn’t have more serious injuries! But after that happened, my parents immediately contacted some people about putting in a fence in their yard. And now they are starting to put the fence in tomorrow and it should be completely done by Tuesday.
They had always planned on getting a fence but kept waiting because it was so expensive. But after what happened to Sally, they said “Screw the expense, we’re putting a fence in RIGHT NOW!”
And @mchitt329: I have no advice or tips for impressing the foster family lol. All our animals have been strays that we took in off the street. All I can say is be yourself and be geniune. Good luck! 🙂

@LadyBlackheart: Oh, poor puppy! I hope she has a quick recovery. Lots of doggie cuddles from me, a stranger on the internet…lol 🙂
I am hitting the gym hard tonight, then FI and I are settling in with a movie when I get home. Tomorrow I have to run and after that we’re going to register, yay! Rest of the weekend will be spend being all mushy and relaxing… 🙂

We are going to look at some furniture for our soon-to-be home.
