And did it live up to the infomercial hype??
I was using our knife set last night (which DH bought before we got married) and it's a Ginsu. Turns out he bought them from a late-night infomercial. They're actually pretty good.
Yup - my snuggie and I love it!!!!! I know you can get them anywhere now but they are so fantastic :-)
I bought that pad that you take hair off of your legs with. Can't remember what it is called, like sandpaper for the legs. I WORKED! And my legs are really smooth. I did find out you can use it to much in one day, like a bad rug burn. I am glad I bought a ton of refills because I haven't seen it in awhile.
I just bought the snaps to hem pants for short people, so I can wear them with any heigth of heel. Will have to get back to you on how it works.
A really long time ago, I bought a hair bun twister for my hair of an infomercial, wish I had bought 50 of them. I miss that thing :(
I am a sucker for product infomercials.
I'll add one more to what's already been mentioned- Snuggies (the dog version too!), Ped Egg & Topsy Turvy, which didn't grow tomatoes or straberries for us AT ALL.
@sceeder: haha we bought the PedEgg too but DH loved it!
We also bought the Cat Genie - biggest freakin waste of money ever!!
The Handy Stitch.
Biggest waste of money ever, I have no idea why I thought I should buy one.
I bought the perfect strap thing for bras. I had a dress with a racerback and hoped I wouldn't have to wear a strapless. Unfortunately, it kept sliding up and was visible, which is WORSE than just having your bra straps visible...now i also have this weird plastic contraption for the world to see. And you get 6 of them, so now I have 6 weird plastic things I never use.
@PitBulLover: I saw that and wondered if a cat would ever use it. They generally avoid things that are helpful and make the care for them easier.
My grandma gave me the GT Xpress for Christmas one year. I still have it, but have probably only used it twice in the last 4 years.
@sceeder: lol yes. Well our one cat really liked it and had no problems using it. Our other cat did not like it at all and would pee all over the place in our house - backpacks, suitcases, piles of clothes, the floor. It was terrible. Not only would he not use it but then it started to not work. DH seriously spent hours on the phone with their customer service line and apparently the cleaning of that thing when it needed to be cleaned was WAY worse than a normal litter box. When we moved out of our townhouse we put it on the curb and smashed it because we hated that thing so much!
@PitBulLover: ew and ugh all at the same time. Well I know what product to avoid.
Slapchop - It doesn't work as promised. It kind of mushes stuff and only can fit half a cup of ingredients at a tim
Proactive - It burn the zits off my face and not in a good way. Peroxide is too harsh for my skin I guess
Thighmaster - Kinda worked ... I guess. But you'd have to do 10000000 reps to really see a difference I think
Soft Paws (nail covers for cats) - A ++++++++ for this product and your cat looks darn cute with them on
@Oneeleven: Oooh I forgot about Soft Paws! Those do work well, and it's like a manicure for your cat!
@Oneeleven: lol Slapchop infomercial is my favorite ever "fettucini, linguini, martini, bikini" and Ive seen soft paws and been so curious, now i kind of want them for my cats!
Disclaimer:
Not my adorable kitty:

I love my Snuggie!!!! Back in the day we had a Thighmaster, and that abs belt electrode thing. What the heck was that called?? Why in the world shocking your stomach would give you abs is beyond me, but I tried it, LOL!

I have "Urine Gone!", as seen on TV. It's an enzyme cleaner I'm using to clean up after my puppies. I bought it because it was the only cleaner at the store yesterday, and I go through a lot of that stuff. It seems to work well and smells nice.
I do think it's funny that the label says "For Pet or People Accidents"!
@SoontobeMrsA: I have totally been eyeing that in the store. I will tell FH that you gave the all clear.
I had seen a leg wax called Nads, of all things, on TV. I got it as a gift, after wanting it forever. Biggest mistake ever. That stuff not only, pretty much ripped off all my skin, but then my pores got infected. It was brutal... A very fond memory I have to share with my FI from back in 2003. He actually helped me apply the stuff and subsequently helped me take care of my legs after!
@KatyElle: I love Oxy Clean.
A girlfriend of mine used ProActive and her face turned BRIGHT red because her skin was too sensitive for it I guess. It took two weeks for her to turn "back to normal" and I think they gave her a hard time about a refund :(
Well I haven't actually bought anything off the tv BUT there is this store called As Seen On TV with all those tv things so I have one of those chopper things, mirrors for my car that make it easy to see blind spots, and I got the bf a ceramic knife. I forget all the lame names they give their products, but everything works great :)
@tksjewelry: Tell him you HAVE TO have the perfect brownie pan. It cooks them so evenly because of the seperate smaller brownies (that's my theory at least). My daughter does not like nuts in hers and we all do so we just pour hers into a couple slots then add nuts and fill the rest of the slots with it.
Man, they should put me on an infomercial.
I never bought anything, but I want PAJAMA JEANS!! Oh god, I'd be in my glory.
Oooh we have a ton! The Shark knife sharpener - totally works. Snuggie - makes me sweat like crazy! How it that cheap fleece so powerful! GT Express 101 - we used it at first, now it sits on a shelf. The "stuffed soup" recipe was pretty awesome. PedEgg - junk. Shamwow - eh. Absorbant the first time, but not as impressive after washing. Wonder Hanger - streched and broke under the weight of our clothes. Water Globes - Love them! I didn't realize how much water my plants needed until i got these.
We bought a Topsy Turvey for my dad - review to come during tomato season. Wow, I buy a lot of this stuff!
@DesireeAnne: I want those too! My friends SIL has them and actually loves them! I think they would be great pregnancy pants!
@SoontobeMrsA: Oh yes, I will def explain it to him. I want so badly to make brownie pops with it. I talk about it everytime we walk past it.
@bakerella: Proactiv seriously messed up my face. I bought it when I was 20, I had moderate acne usually right before I got my period so I figured I'd try it since it had so many celebrity endorsements.
I spent 60 bucks and I swear I lost a layer of skin. Not only did my skin break out worse, it peeled and produced oil like crazy. I called to get my money back and they told me it just needed time to take effect.
Biggest waste of money ever, I was so mad.
I am also the proud owner of a Magic Bullet. My friend Henry and I used to sit mesmorized by the infomercial for it (when they are all in the kitchen).
Magic Bullet + bottle of Skinny Girl Margarita = amazing night/awful hangover.
Ha ha! I nearly bought a bottle of wine at the liquor store last night because it was "as seen on tv". Not the brand version though. I assume on a show or something. Too funny.
I bought a rubber broom sort of thing that's supposed to clean pet hair off carpets from the As Seen On TV website. Junk. You have to apply a lot of pressure to get it to pick of the hair so that gets tiring plus it tore the rubber. I would say it might be worth it if you took off the handle and used it for your couch though.
Oh, and my husband has the Pampered Chef version of the chopper thing. He loves it, I don't think it's worth the clean up.
@DesireeAnne: I may or may not totally want pajama jeans. :-D
@SoontobeMrsA: I have that! my mom bought those for my sister and I for xmas last year! great give - i love it
My FI got me a pedegg, too! I was so excited when we first got it, but I usually forget I have it. I still don't think it works nearly as well as whatever they use when you get a pedicure.
Hey,@SoontobeMrsA:, I had the worst trouble with my Perfect Brownie Pan. I would spray it w/ Pam, and the stuff would still stick. Half the brownies would come out still on the grid thingy. Even after I'd let them cool completely. The outer ones would burn, meanwhile the inner ones were still mushy. I'd try different recipes, adjust the cooking time and temps, tried covering it with tin foil, adjusting the rack in the oven on which it sat. Nothing, it failed at every turn. And not to toot my own horn or anything, but I'm a good cook(and baker).
Sooo, my question is, what is your secret? 'Cause mine sucked. Yay for anybody else who has one and loves it and works perfectly for, though.
I have the yoshi knife and I wish I had twenty of them. You need to buy one. Now.
I echo PP's thumbs down on Proactiv. Didn't work on my breakouts, (though it didn't irritate my skin) and the small sizes ran out to quickly.
But, I love my Snuggie. And my Ped Egg.
@Wonderwoman217: I spray it and the like grid thing with Pam (well store brand Pam I am saving for a wedding). We use regular like Duncan Hines or whatever Brownie Mix. OH but I do set the temp lower than suggested (by like 25 degrees). I do that because my oven tends to burn everything but give it a try. It's worth a shot.
