Dropped all my stuff off and the hotel and went over contract and expectations with the coordinator today.
One last thing, she wanted to know what beer we want to serve at our bar.
We need 1 imported and 2 domestic. I think we can pretty much ask for anything within reason.
What are some suggestions?

A German Oktoberfest would be fun since it’s October (Spaten is my favorite, followed by Hofbrau)
My favorite domestic beer is Harpoon IPA. Where are you? I would definitely shoot for something local.

I would probably do something like Bud Light and then a local beer. Where are you located? We did Bud Light and a local wheat beer. You could always pick a Sam Adams or Blue Moon, those are pretty popular domestics. I’d still pick a local over that though!
Some of the more popular imported beers are Corona, Stella, Guinness.
I love German beer so I’d have to go that way.
@vermonster: Oktoberfest beer would be an awesome idea as well!! Spaten is yummy!

thanks, i am in baltimore.
she suggested Sam Adams Octoberfest, i do like that idea of having an Octoberfest.
my favorite beers are IPAs, but I will probably be drinking wine and not beer..
ahh, decisions, decisions, I thought I was done.

I would do one “boring” beer like bud light. then for the other two, do “interesting” different kinds. (different from each other.)

Everyone into dark imports likes Guiness. If you go for cheap Domestic– Rolling Rock. With three picks just target one dark, one pale, and one wild card.

@ajillity81: Definitely Sam Adams if you’re in Baltimore. Why not do Corona or Guinness (depends on your crowd), Sam Adam’s Lager, and Sam Adam’s Octoberfest?

With an October Wedding, an Octoberfest Beer would seem to be a natural (altho how much you actually serve will be debateable)
Behind that, I think you need an IPA… (Draft preferred)
A middle of the road US Bottled Beer… Budweiser – Coors ?
(You could do some research to find out what is the most sold Beer in your area)
For an import, I think that Corona is still the best selling one in the USA
Hope this helps,

I think we chose Sam Adams, Hoegaarden and Yuengling

We had Natty Boh at our wedding since it’s a local beer 🙂

Being a Bostonian, I think Sam is always a good choice! I would do Yuengling over Bud/Coors/Miller- similar style, but better quality (and a local-ish family owned brewery!).

@ajillity81: Ah, a fellow Baltimore bride! Well then we both know that Natty Boh is a MUST. Full on requirement, no questions asked. No Bud light – Mr. Boh will take of the cheap/familiar beer crowd.
I don’t even know if the other 2 matter, but for the hell of it I’ll say Heavy Seas and Sam Adams Octoberfest.

@ajillity81: We had to pick this out at contract time and we are doing Sam Adams Blue Moon Miller Lite (uh would prefer Coors lite but lost that one haha) Budweiser and O’Doules (because they made us pick a non-alcoholic beer too which we found odd) I feel like that covers some of the richer flavors to more of the lighter beers for people who just want a drink with dinner. We may ask to add in redds because I think its something fun and beer adjacent if you will
