@dynamic_duo:  Are you sure it’ll be chocolate?  πŸ˜‰

Ours is three different:  White cake w/ rasp, Red velvet w/ cream cheese, and strawberry w/ cream cheese

the groom’s cake at rehearsal is chocolate cake w/ fudge filling

Yum Yum! You all are making me hungry. I love cake. It is my favorite food! We have been debating the cake question too.  FH says choc. with caramel filling. I want white with raspeberry filling. I still need two more flavors though. hmm…

just ordered the cake yesterday – best thing ever!! we’ll have 4 tiers and each will have a different flavor. the biggest is black forest cake, then comes rasperry cream, then chocolate cream and on top hazelnut cream, all covered in white cream and white chocolate flakes, topped with real red roses. why chose only one flavor if you can have 4 :-)!!

We’re having a cupcake tree that I’m obsessed with!  All of the cupcakes are filled with frosting and covered in frosting.  Right now, we’re looking at lemon cake with cream cheese frosting, cola cupcakes with mocha frosting (it’s SO much better than it sounds), chocolate cupcakes filled with cookie dough and covered in chocolate frosting, white cupcakes with white frosting (gotta cover the basics), and possibly chocolate cupcakes with orange frosting.  AMAZING!

We’re doing two separate cakes instead of the traditional wedding cake with tiers. The cakes will be a hummingbird cake and a godiva chocolate cheesecake…. Our two favorites!!

The cake is a surprise to me (something my father wanted to do AHHH), but I do know that we’re having vanilla cake with strawberry icing and chocolate cake with peanut butter icing.

I went to a bridal show the day before my engagement pictures and had a piece of red velvet food cake … oh my lord! I had the worst allergic reaction to the red dye in my LIFE and had my neck and chest covered in the most horrible red ugly rash! Luckily my sister did a great job covering it up, but I was horrified! It definitely will not be making an appearance at the weddding, that’s for sure! πŸ™‚

We are definitely doing a red velvet as it goes with our red and purple color scheme and because it is yummy. We are having a cake buffet instead of a tiered cake and will probably do 3 other types of cake. I am thinking of white cake, carrot and something different like tiramisu or strawberry. Since FI likes banana cake with chocolate frosting, I thought about doing that as a groom’s cake.

Lemon cake with lemon curd filling and vanilla buttercream icing. FH will only eat two kinds of cake- vanilla or lemon. I went with lemon.

We’re doing 3 separate cakes as opposed to stacked as well.

Not totally decided, but I know one will be white cake with raspberry or my mom will have a hissy fit… who cares that I hate raspberries πŸ˜‰

Thinking the others may be capuccino – white cake soaked with espresso and a capuccino cream  and maybe white with strawberry or chocolate mousse.  Not sure.

If I end up making my own wedding cakes (a possibility) I’ll do a yellow cake with white chocolate mousse and raspberry filling, yellow with pastry cream, mixed berries and Grand Marnier,   and banana with dulce de leche filling.

YUM!
