I didn't make any purchases, but I KNEW I didn't want a veil and wanted to go with just a flower/fascinator thing. While I hadn't purchased anything... it did really inform the choices I made while dress shopping.
This is too funny! I didn't buy any accessories before the big dress purchase, but I didn't have my veil picked out. Your accessories are great! I love that bracelet! I don't think you'll have trouble finding the right dress.
I proudly live in crazy town with you. I purchased my bracelet first... Then shoes... Then dress... Then *new* bracelet because first bracelet doesn't go with dress... Oh and the shoes don't go with anything else so I bought second shoes to change into for the reception.
So, yes, I proudly reside in crazy town. Won't you come pull up a chair on my porch?! Moral of the story? It's easier if you have a pretty good idea about your dress first ;) but then again, I was never one to do things the easy way!
You're not crazy, or maybe I am too. I purchased my shoes about a year before I was even engaged and knew that I had to have a wedding dress to match.
Gah. Love your bracelet. And I'm actually wearing Old Navy ballet flats (in blue) at this very moment that are almost exactly the same as your pink shoes! And actually, I totally bought these shoes because I might wear them at the wedding. I've been breaking them and seeing how I like them. ^_^
I'm actually planning the dress around a birdcage veil that my sister is making for me. If it doesn't look good with a birdcage, I'm not going to wear it. That's pretty much all I know. So I guess we can set up a Crazytown on the borders of the Hive, but I'm pretty sure there will be a lot of citizens coming to join us. ^_^
Omg the bracelet is gorgeous!! Where did it come from? I don't think you're crazy for planning your outfit this way! At least it will help narrow down your choices.
I love that bracelet! I actually got the necklace I am going to wear from my FH as a college graduation gift and I knew that was what I was going to wear.
It think it would have gone with pretty much any strapless dress, so it worked out.
Oh my God, that bracelet is gorgeous! I would totally look for a dress that would work with it just so I could wear it.
My fiance gave me a set of pearls that I knew I wanted to wear, so I guess technically I had my jewelry first. But it wasn't really hard b/c pearls are pearls. I don't have shoes yet, but I really like the pink ones you posted. Where are those from?
your bracelet is soo pretty and love the color of your shoes. with all of the dress styles out there i'm sure you'll be able to find a great one.
i chose my jewelry before the dress :) i say go with what inspires you.
Oh goodie! We can have Crazy Town Block Parties this summer! Wahoo! :)
The bracelet is a vintage broach redone into a bracelet from Etsy vendor Noaki. All of her jewelry makes me drool! She also customizes the fit for each bracelet so that it fits properly. Check her out!
I got my necklace and earrings before I got my dress. Going dress shopping in 2 weeks. :)
i got my dress first, then a birdcage veil, and am currently ordering my fascinator, and still need shoes and accessories. BUT i think it wouldve worked out better the way you're doing things! obvs the dress takes the most out of you, and accesories totally bring the entire package together. i think its harder to bring a look together if the accesories are an after thought.....
ps. beautiful bracelet!
Beautiful bracelet! I did the dress first, and then everything else fell into place. But I had a general idea what I wanted to find for all the accessories.
Yeah.... I am totally going to be the accessories type of a girl. i really want a pair of killer shoes as an engagement gift to myself and a drop veil that hits my finger tips i think i dunno about that...
Accessories for me! I want a plain dress with no beading or lace so I'm not worried about clashing.
I haven't even got my SHOES yet. I just did the dress first ... nothing else yet. Oh the veil.

I haven't purchased my dress yet...not even close. I haven't even narrowed the selection down very much. Buuuuuuuuuuuuut I have purchased my shoes and a bracelet that I want to wear on the big day. What if I can't find the dress to match the shoes and the bracelet? Well then, ladies and gents, I'll be going commando. :)
Did any of you make accessory purchases before you got your dress? Please tell me I'm not the only citizen of Crazy Town...
