Put one next to the guestbook, on the cake table, at the bar, in the bathroom, etc…

Awww…poor FI…

I know his heart was in the right place 🙂

I don’t know what your theme is, but if my FI did that to me, for my theme, I would paint them an antique gold and get some styrofoam balls, cut them in half and insert some flowers into them and then put those in where the votive candles are, and also get a styrofoam circle thing with a hole in the middle and insert flowers into that and then put that around the base. I would keep the crystals, but take them off before I painted and then put them back on after the paint dried.

Have you chosen a centerpiece? Are you using round or rectangular tables?

I also think these would look great with flowers inserted into the votive holders. Or maybe you can arrange flowers around the base.

I hope they work out. That’s real thoughtful of your husband to go out his way.

@alaiyo: You are very welcome 🙂

My theme is actually similar to yours; Victorian, vintage, romance.

@alaiyo: I think using them for centerpieces would work well. Just think on it a bit and I am sure you will come up with something. You could use the extra ones on the guestbook/gift table.

@alaiyo: Yes, the venue that we booked will supply them to us. They are crystal vases, votives, etc., with silk flowers. If we had to do our own, I would totally go with something like you are having to work with and decorate them the way I suggested; maybe doing alternating tables with the votives and flowers at the base. I think they fit the theme really well; only in a different color; at least for me.

I am also using a couple of feather towers for the ceremony that will be incorporated somehow into the reception.

omg! first of all! i think your fiance is awesome for even thinking of this!

next I would spray paint it the color of choice.  Perhaps take off the extra “bling” (as this just isn’t my style.  I would probably use spray frost to frost the votive holders. (I love candles, and I do not think this is bad, i would totally rock it) Would definitely put flowers around the bottom, or something.  That needs help LOL.  I like the idea about puting them at the guest book, near bathrooms, etc.  (you could also place a few of them at varrying heights using books under table cloths to add interest)

how sweet though! for sure!

I don’t see a thing wrong with them, and actually think they’re perfect for centerpieces. To save some money, you could also buy a great fabric and just have it scrinched around the base. Add a few more votives if you like or some scatters and be done with it. They’re pretty and match your theme quite well!

Do you have a DR table where you could play around? Set one up with one of these and try and get an  idea of how it will look in an actual table setting. I’m sure you’ll be happy, and if you want to change the color, spray paint is an easy fix.
