You could ask people to donate money to  a charity of your choice in your guys’ name since you seem more then established and dont really need anything. 🙂

you can ask for a monetary donation! we own a home but we have nothing in our house so we are registering for all the things that we bought that were really cheap and need to be replaced.

also you can ask for gift cards? like to Target or Bed bath and beyond

haha! You sound like ME! LOL As the only girl in my whole generation I stand to inherit almost everything domestic related – plus, as the youngest everytime one of my brothers or cousins get a new _____________(couch, pots& pans, wine glass set) I get the hand me downs. Nana’s old dishes? Give em to Dancy! Aunt Ellen bought new sidetables – Oh! Dancy – do you want the old ones? I have like 3 couches & 2 more coffee tables in our basement but I just can’t bring myself to donate or sell them. It actually kinda bums me out because I can NOT justify buying anything.

Luckily our stuff isn’t new, it’s crazy old. Plus it’s “mine” as opposed to “ours”. We registered for new things so that they could be “ours”.I’ll just have to finally let go of  the older things.

What about some really nice things you wouldn’t think to buy for yourself? A pretty Kate Spade vase or crystal stemware? Let’s be honest – I can never walk through BB&B or Wm Sonoma without thinking “oooh, cool! I want one.” at least twice. LOL

You could always do a honeymoon registry too.

Don’t forget – you will have lots of lovely pictures to diplay soon- picture frames make nice gifts! Also you could register for all thiose fun impulses and not buy them. we have a rule no self gifts in a gift month (december and birthday month) and that meant no for us purchases before the wedding too.

you should check out sites that allow guests to make charitable donations? That would be my recommendation. We are registering for actual items at myregistry.com and williams sonoma but myregistry also allows us to include a charity gift fund for St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Both of us were involved with this wonderful organization in college so it definitely means a lot to us. We have a lot we need (not in terms of cookware – hey just starting out on the culinary attempts here so it’s all good 🙂   ) but the charity gift fund is just as important to us and hopefully to any guests who wish to contribute a wedding gift. Just a suggestion but you can do that or a honeymoon gift fund! 🙂
