    Hi Ladies -

I am looking for inexspensive ideas to use instead of the traditional guestbook.

Feel free to leave pictures behind. :)

We made a photobook from KodakGallery.com and included pictures of each of us from childhood up to the wedding. That way we combined the classic slideshow with the guestbook. It was a big hit! I'd say ~75% of our 160 guests wrote us a message. People also loved seeing their own pictures in the book and commenting next to the picture.

I used a wedding wish tree. It was different and people liked it. A lot of weddings do this, so you won't have a hard time finding one. This is not the one I used but is very very similar almost identical. We had premade cards with our logo and guest signed the cards and hung them on the tree. We made a scrap book and included the cards in it.

We're going to be doing a marriage advice box. We'll have a mailbox with papers next to it (not sure what they're going to say yet) but when they're done, they fold them up and put them in the box :)

We are framing a picture of us and it will have a border that the guests can sign on with a sharpie. That way we can hang it up in the house. I think it's much more useful than a guest book that I would surely lose or misplace.

I don't have a picture example, but my FH and I are going to use a big poster of the Sears Tower (our reception venue) and have it matted and framed, and then have people sign the mat!

We did a finger print tree, and it now hangs on our kitchen wall...

I bought some small craft paper books, painted the table numbers on them, and wrote a question in the front of each, like:

What should we name our kids? or Where should we vacation? or What's your best piece of advice?

The guests were able to take time to think about the question, and write their responses without getting backed up at the guestbook table (which is my least favorite part of fingerprint guestbooks)

We are going a Rock Guest book. Guests will write their wishes and advice or polished rocks that I picked up at the dollar store.. That way I can put them in a vase with some fake flowers! See em daily!

Found this pic when I googled it.

How about a Thumbprint tree.  We are doing this, have your guests "Leaf" their thumpring and sign.  I ordered mine from Etsy.  Depends on the size of your wedding as to the cost.

We are having a photo booth at the receiption, so rather than a traditional guest book, I made a bunch of cards for advice, wishes, and predictions for the guest tables and at the photobooth table. Saw someone online that did a similar thing but for a wishing tree. The little cards will be dropped off at the photo booth to be added to the scrapbook.

If your not doing a photo booth, you can probally put the cards at the guest tables or at a table in the venue with pens and a box to put the cards into.
