Bubbles?  I am thinking about that but not sure if it will stain my dress.  I think Ms. Stripes made some adorable flags for guests to wave, that might be cute.

I’ve seen people ringing little bells as the B&G exit.  It is really cute and doesn’t create a mess.

you can use sparklers, have evryone ring bells, just not have them do anything.

Usually the rice, birdseed etc is thrown outside not inside as you walk down the aisle, but I understand that many venues will still require cleanup. I think that’s why biodegradeable alternatives have come to the fore. That, and the risk of falling on the grains of rice that act like ball bearings.

Alternatives include lavender  http://www.beau-coup.com/lavender-wedding-rice.htmdried flower buds, ecofetti (dissolves with water-either a hose or rain)http://www.ecoparti.com/toec.html

Have you thought about bubbles, bells etc as an alternative?

You can hire someone to release some doves-makes for awesome pictures!

OOH..we’re having ‘confetti wands’ basically 10″ dowels with circles of biodegradable paper placed on the dowels and tied at the bottom with a bow.. People just flick their wrist and all the circles float in the air!! The pieces are much bigger than regular confetti and eaiser to pick up..I’ll try to find a link to the site I found them on..

Actually they dont sound nearly as cute as they look!! HAHA.. but  they’re so much fun and easy to make..

I’d go with bubbles! Everyone loves bubbles!

Or maybe everyone could wave little flags at you? That’s a fun DIY project that makes for beautiful pictures – and a nice wedding favor too.

We did bubbles and I am SO glad we did!!  We got some fantastic pictures and I had no issues with stains on my dress or anything.  Here are some pictures:

We released butterflies. You can get Monarch butterflies in individual envelopes for each guest or put them in a big box and you and your husband can release them. We had our best man and maid of honor do it for us. I do know that in the U.S. there is a rule about California can only ship Monarchs to states west of the Mississippi (I think) and then there are companies in like Florida for the eastern half. Its also a little pricey, but just a suggestion. 🙂

And @Dodgercpkl your bubble pics look so neat!!
