Playing with my cats, exercise (love those endorphins), going for a ride amongst beautiful scenery and when I am really down - reaching out for support from my fellow bees! Oh and sex, sex always makes me sunny!
Ohh I can already tell I'm going to love this thread! It never fails to cheer me up when I play with my little baby bulldog. She's so darn cute, I can't help but cheer up. Also foolproof, Jimmy Fallon's SNL Greatest Moments. I will laugh endlessly.
@bridetoBee2010 BABY BULLDOG??? GAHHHHHHHH!
playing with my pugs, blog reading, and MIKE BIRBIGLIA! (fave comedian.)
My dog, going for a walk, getting a chocolate chip carmel apple and sneaking it into the movies (mainly girly movies), watching an episode of my favorite show on DVD, crafting for my BM (I get giddy thinking about how much I'm spoiling them!), reading a good book, a bubble bath...wow I have a lot, I guess I should come back here the next time I'm down and actually do these things, I think it's harder to remember when you are actually down.
My cats, video games, and happy music help. When I'm bummed at work, I go for a walk. I work in DC and smack dab near so many gorgeous monuments and buildings, so that cheers me up a bit.
Bad movies. Like bad teenybopper movies. I'm not sure why but yea.. that's the best!
Snuggling with my kitties
Venting to the hubs
Working out
Sometimes, just sitting in my pj's with a glass of wine watching tv works
Chocolate!! Especially dark chocolate covered cherry cordials. Also, buffalo doritos dipped in ranch do the trick. Wait ... non-food ....
I love when my fiance gets into his lovey-dovey mood and runs his fingers through my hair and on my cheek and tells me how much he loves me ...that's my favorite time ever and it leaves me so happy for days!
Also, a massage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! or man/ped
This sounds absolutely silly but breakfast food make me happy. For whatever reason bacon (and a can of Coke) does the trick for me. Hmmm, there's just something so wrong with me posting this under the Wellness section of this forum.
Our two adorable canaries! I love playing with them and when they sing it cheers me up instantly. :)
Spontaneous dance parties (randomly in the living room, or while we cook or brush our teeth)
Being outside on a nice day.
Ice cream! :)
When I'm feeling down (and I was about 30 minutes ago, by the way) I like to put on a pair of Christian Louboutins and dance around to music-I'll literally be wearing pajamas and 5" heels but it makes me feel so much better!
Things that always make me smile are: my kitties, episodes of my favorite shows (How I Met Your Mother, Friends), a good, strong cup of coffee and listening to music.
Singing in my car - like BELTING it out.
Random YouTube videos (laughing babies, charlie bite me, david after the dentist - go look them up you can't stop laughing)
Going through my high school photos
Tickling my fiance and making him laugh - he HATES it but his giggle gets me every time.
I know it sounds cheesy, but my FI gives the best hugs in the world, and they always make me feel better :) He also gives a great back rub...
Non-FI related ways I like to cheer myself up? Chocolate...I'm an M&M fanatic because I rationalize that they are so small, it doesn't count...buuuut yeah in reality I eat a huge bag! Also, just sitting around and watching tv...always helps! And, if all else fails, a good bottle of wine does the trick!
My cats, snuggling with my fiance, going for a long walk, and listening to music. And of course-Chocolate!
FH and I used to live in Las Vegas, where the movie theaters tend to have the best amenities. If one of us had a really bad day, we would go to the casino near our apartment, buy hot Starbucks drinks and sneak them in my big purse, pull up the armrests between the seats, and sprawl out. It was so relaxing!
GabGal I agree with bad movies! And Jessie516 I LOVE watching friends :) Anytime but especially when I need to destress.
I like to make lists, it helps me feel a bit more in control! I also like to talk to my mother! haha
I enjoy naps, a great glass of wine or a great cup of coffee, a bit of shopping, a great new magazine (people, US weekly or a wedding magazine)
I love this thread!
Crying to really bad girly movies, working out and ice cream!
LOL my things don't really go together but depending on the stress I do different things! I probably choose the work out more than the ice cream one; however, I would prefer to eat ice cream while crying watching girly movies LOL
Cupcakes! :-)
Some shopping...even if it's just to Walgreen's to pick up toothpaste. Usually...getting out of the house and away from wedding related stuff for a couple of hours will do it. My mister is really good about us having a day out of the week where we don't talk or do anything wedding related. It keeps us both sane.
Okay... I can get pretty moody so I have a lot!
Playing with my cats, going on a walk, doing yoga, meditating, good red wine, taking a nice bubble bath, talking to a friend or to FI, watching random cat videos on YouTube and also that Baby Landlord skit, have you guys seen that? SO FUNNY!
my dog.
yoga. walking on the beach. reading a great book. seeing a movie. running. hugs. helping someone in need. dancing. music.
This is a good one. For me, it's ME time. All alone with my kitties, some wine, some pizza, tv, and my computer. Being antisocial and being lazy. Sometimes a book.
That's what I'm doing tonight! It has uplifted my crappy friday work mood!

When you're feeling down---whether it be the wedding or something else---what cheers you up? Hopefully we can make this thread a resource for pick-me-ups during the stress of wedding planning and married life.
Something that cheers me up without fail is listening to the performances of my all-state choir from high school. It always brings a smile to my face.
What about you?
