I just wanted to have an idea of how many brides are wearing ivory, and how many are wearing white. My dress is ivory, but I'm kind of having second thoughts. Thanks ladies!
I'm wearing ivory, white just doesn't go well with my pale skin!
the ivory just looked softer in photos to me - but its a light ivory, so it still photographs as white, just not as bright - my skin is olivey, and the white looked a little to jarring against it in the dresses i tried on
i don't have a dress yet but i am hoping to go with a champagne or light gold dress. If not that then definitely ivory.
I am wearing a diamond white, I'm didn't like my dress as much in ivory. It isn't extreme white, it is more of a vintage white so it toned down a little.
Ivory looks best on most skin tones. That really bright white washes most peoples skin out and in photos, you probably wouldn't be able to see all the details since the light would reflect. But most of the time ivory looks white until you put it next to something white. Ivory is becoming very popular now.
I'm wearing blush. It compliments my very pale skin and it looks very soft and pretty. Just a touch of color :)
My dress is in Diamond White - I didn't really know what that meant when I read it online, but after seeing it in person I realize that it's essentially between white and ivory. It's actually a really nice compromise for a color!
Same as Scissors... really light ivory. The white was just TOO white, and I'm sort of pale.. It looks pretty in ivory too... even though I'm doing a black and white wedding, my dress is ivory.. oh well, it will probably photograph white, plus I'll be unique...
Mine is ivory satin -- it has a very creamy tone to it.
Ivory lace. I'm really pale and my skin has yellow undertones to it and when I tried on the white dresses I ended up looking like Casper the not-so-friendly ghost.
A dark champagne, almost mauve color. I posted about it here: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/and-the-bride-did-not-wear-white
I am wearing Sottero and Midgley's Diamond White! (A shade btw white and ivory)
I'm wearing light gold. It took me about 30 seconds to figure out that I don't look good in white, and the gold was just too lovely with my skin tone!
I'm wearing white because although I'm not a virgin it is my first and hopefully my only marriage. Also I've been practicing absitnence and remaining "Pure" until my wedding day...
Diamond white for me. I guess it's not white... but it's not as dark as ivory.
White! It best compliments my skin tone and dark hair the best. Ivory or any other shade besides white didn't work for me.
I went in to the store figuring I'd come out with a white dress... but the sample was in ivory, and my mom and aunt and the consultant all convinced me to go with the ivory. *shrug* Wouldn't make too much difference on me (I tan easily) and they liked it, so I went with it.
White for me. I at least want to look like a virgin :) Plus it looks best with my dark hair and tan skin for our end of summer wedding
white for me... but i have dark hair/skin and this looks best for me.
I am wearing Ivory - - its a very creamy ivory, if that makes any sense, LOL
Mine is, um, milk white. It is white, but it has that strange translucence of milk. Very interesting color. I didn't want a white dress, but the milky characteristic worked with my super pale skin tone.
its actually "cafe" basically a goldish tone :)
I'm a medium-beige Asian and my dress is of taffeta material so the ivory really complemented my skin color while the white flushed me out like I was beyond sickly!
White. I mentioned to my mom about ivory and got an earful "MUST BE WHITE!" as she says... I would have preferred diamond white, but my dress didn't come in that color.
I ordered the same as the sample I had tried on and thought it was white, but was told it was ivory. It looked like white to me. I still can't tell the difference between most of these shades.
My technical color is "diamond white". It's not as stark as regular white, but whiter than Ivory. My dress is taffeta, so the ivory almost looked yellow, and white was way too "HI I"M WHITE!" for my taste.
WOW!!! so many girls are going with ivory!!! I love it! :) :) FYI my dress is ivory!
My dress says its color is "natural white" but in reality it's more like a light ivory.
My dress is light Ivory in a beautiful satin material and it looks like alot of girls are wearing Ivory...shocking! :)
Mine is very white. I am very fair, so I was extremely surprised at how good it looked on me.
