I’m trying to decide what color luggage to add to our registry? Both FI and I will be using it so I wanted to stay gender neutral, even though I love the purple.
Also, I plan to use this luggage for many years. Does anyone have any experience with American Tourister luggage? Reviews online seem okay.

I travel allll the time. Everyone has a black or red suitcase. if you want to actually be able to pick your luggage out on the carousel, pick blue or purple.

I’d go with red or purple. It’s best to go with something that isn’t “normal” so that when you go to get the luggage off the belt at the airport, it stands out and you don’t take the wrong one. We have red, and it’s perfect, so that’s what I voted for.

I second the blue or purple, do something that will stand out so you can find your luggage easier!

Also, American Tourister, is “ok”, but Eagle Creek is basically as good as it gets. Seriously. It’s freaking amazing.

Yes- agreed, I love the blue and the purple

I voted purple because that’s what I have (different brand), and I love it! I would highly recommend NOT getting black or any other dark neutral – that’s what everyone has and it makes it a pain when you are trying to locate your luggage on the belt. I love being able to stand back and wait for that splash of color to come through and go grab it quick. Probably 60% of the luggage I’ve seen in baggage claim has been black.
I think that’ purple is awesome but the red and light blue look pretty nice too 🙂

I would stay away from black just because majority of people seem to have black luggage, which always leads to drama at the baggage belt in airports.
The other colours look very nice, but just beware: there is a very good chance your luggage will get dirty and maybe even damaged. I found out the hard way after I bought a lovely set of light brown/beige suitcases. They ended up looking horrible (so dirty) after 1 roundtrip flight.

We are registering for black luggage because it seems to have the most longevity style-wise. I hate seeing uber stylish prints on luggage because for me luggage isnt something I would buy every season! I have mostly had dark purple luggage myself and FH has only traveled with military luggage (digital camo) so we decided something neutral would be better for us. My family travels alot and use mostly black luggage. While some people think this is a “finding your bag disaster” we always use bright/unique luggage tags or ribbons on our suitcases. This helps with having a large family and not everyone has matching suitcases, we just look for our tags/ribbons! Ive traveled to several different airports throughout the country and have never lost a bag (knock on wood!) or had any troubles locating my suitcase!

Don’t get the black, it’s much more difficult to identify. I voted blue because while that particular blue is bright and recognizable, I don’t think it will show wear and scuffs too badly.

I pick blue because that blue is really pretty 🙂 But my luggage is the silver hardcased ones… I prefer to keep it classic

I got red luggage when we got married and I love it… bright, pops, and our particular set isn’t difficult to pick out of a lineup.

I have black luggage and I wouldn’t go with another colour. Black is timeless and the colour will never go out of style. It is the most unisex a colour can get. That said, it is hard to pick out in a baggage claim, but that’s why I tied a big rainbow of ribbon around the handle – now it’s unmistakable.

Blue or red would be easier to spot on a luggage carousel. Just saying…

I would choose black because any other color is likely to be scuffed up and get really dirty on all those airport convayer belts. I had brand new pink luggage that looked awful after one trip.
