I love the dress! I didn't see the papaya color under the choices, but I think the Firecracker color (for reds) and the Fresh color (light tealy blue?) reminds me of the era and the show.
oops! I posted the link with the wrong fabric (same dress but different fabric and TOTALLY different color choices)! This is the correct link because I think we'll go with this fabric to compliment my dress: http://www.dessy.com/dresses/bridesmaid/D448/
I also liked the "fresh" color in the peau de soie dress fabric (it looked like a minty green to me), my only concern with choosing a green dress is I REALLY want pink somewhere, and would be fine with just having pink flowers, but I worry green and pink would look very lilly pulitzer and I kind of loathe that look, lol.
My gut reaction when I saw the title was olive (I have no idea why), but after seeing the options, I really like Barcelona or the Black.
Let me preface this and say this response will not be helpful (sorry!), but I'd say red - because Christina Hendricks seems to wear it a lot. I don't watch the show, so that's all I know. However, that dress is pretty awesome!
I'd go for Firecracker too! I'm a bit obsessed with the show.
I like Barcelona and midnight. I think the pink flowers with the midnight dress would look really great together, and not Lily Pulitzer like.
That was one of the dresses we had for our June wedding. Here are a couple pics if you want to see how the niagara in the dupioni fabric looks. We used the niagara as our main color, but I had lots of pinks mixed in, as well. If you have questions about ordering, cost, or the fit of the dress, feel free to ask me. We loved alfred sung, they really looked great, and didn't feel cheap or cheezy at all.
If you want to see more pics, you can check out my recap post, too. :)

We were also going for a retroish look, and I think jewel tones are very 50s/60s appropriate. I love light hues, too, like mint, but pastels can be challenging for most people to wear. We went with the tealy blue because it was super flattering on everyone.
of the first set of colors I really love the Mango color... totally retro...
As for the second fabric/colors I love Ivy for a retro touch... but that's just me. :)
ETA: I've never seen the show, but i'm a big fan of the 50's.
I'm having blue dresses with pink flowers I think they look amazing together and dark blue looks great on EVERYONE (and can totally be worn again!)
@o0olibelulao0o: Yeah, it's hard to look bad in dark blue :) It's like black, but with a splash of somethin' somethin'.
From what I remember from that era (I was very young, but I have pictures:), colors that were popular were gold, avacado, olive, orange, lemon yellow, and browns. My parents had all of those very trendy colors in their homes (not in the same room, of course ha ha).
Red is very "hollywood" to me, and black is very "Audrey" to me, esp. in that design. I love that dress too. I'll be excited to see what you pick!
PS: My mom had this radical gown in the sixties that was the same color as "Appletini". She wore silver accessories. That outfit rocked.
I'd Definitely go with “Fresh” from the first link or
even "Appletini" !

I'm going out bridesmaid dress shopping with my girls tomorrow and I am in love with this dress: http://www.dessy.com/dresses/bridesmaid/D440/ and am PRAYING that it works out and looks great on everyone!
I really want a vintage feel to my wedding (1950's/60's are my FAVORITE - think Mad Men), and thats part of why I love this bridesmaids dress.
When you think of that time period, what color comes to mind? My original feeling is to choose papaya (I like pinks), but wanted to survey the bees! :)
Thanks ladies!
