you have my cake topper!!! i love it.
i actually didnt end up using it because my colors were black, red and white and it just didnt go so i had it on our picture table instead and now its in my home.
it was my very first wedding purchase! before i picked my colors :(
i say go orange!
Personally I like the consistency of one color ribbon. If Yellow is your primary color I would put it at the top and the bottom and then the orange and red in the middle.
What about flowers. That cake has green flowers to match the ribbon?
I'd have it match the color of the bridesmaids dresses. We are having a 5 tier cake (my mom is making it and she'll be the one eating leftover cake for the next year lol) so the top two and bottom two layers are just going to have black ribbon around the bottom. The middle layer will have a turquoise ribbon around the middle with a black letter S. The turquoise is the color of the girls dresses and I think it's just a nice way to tie in the color.
I like the idea of one color as well. The cake decorator kept asking about multiple colors so I thought I'd throw it out there.
I don't think we are going to do the flowers. The pictures our decorator showed us where she did the flowers didn't look the greatest.

Our colors are yellow with orange and red accents. We are going for a summery, relaxed feel. The plan for the cake is to do three tiers with a solid ribbon around the base of each teir. The top layer of the cake will have swiss dots, the middle layer will be plain, and the bottom is having this lacey design. What colors should the ribbon be? We are also doing the Willow Tree cake topper because I love all things Willow Tree.
I also love cakes which is why I am putting so much thought into the silly ribbon colors! :)
