Some brides choose for their shoes to be their 'something blue' but I think most other brides who choose a pop of color shoe wear within their wedding colors. I'm planning to wear soft pink heels for my valentines wedding Feb. 2013.
I think the nice thing about wedding dresses being white is that you can do absolutely any shoe you want, colorwise. I wouldn't even worry about matching it to your wedding colors.
I feel like the only answer to this is "Whatever you want :)"
I'm considering going with a royal blue or maybe just a neutral shoe with some bling. I think it depends on the style of your dress and also whatever you personally prefer.
I am doing a red/black shoe since those are the colors we are going with. I love the idea that I can show them off when I want to and that they won't show anyway when I don't! And I LOVE the shoes, so I will be excited to wear them for anniversary dinners in the future :)
@sarahbabs: ditto!
Anything you want! You can match them to your dress, or your wedding colours, or make them your favorite colour or your something blue...
I think you can wear whatever color shoes you want!
I wore sparkly gold flats with my dress, which actually matched it very well and I think still had a classic bridal vibe. Hardly anyone saw my shoes though, my dress was so poofy lol.
I think you can wear whatever you want! In my area people have pretty "traditional" weddings with ivory/white shoes so I've only ever seen the colourful shoes online. I love the look of non-white/ivory shoes though. My wedding shoes are patent peach (:
My bridal party and I were discussing shoes while dress shopping last weekend and they are completely anti my colored shoe decision. Our colors are black, white, and teal, so I was going to do a fun teal shoe. I did, however, find a beautiful, strappy, glitzy 3" heel "pageant" shoe at the bridal salon that was gorgeous and comfortable...so the right shoe might change my mind on the teal thing.
My dress is champagne & my bridesmaids are wearing eggplant. I think I am doing an eggplant shoe. My dress lady said it would look good but not everyone agrees with me. I don't care though! She even said I could do silver because there is a little silver accent in the beading but I really think the eggplant would look amazing. I am also doing an eggplant clutch and having the bridesmaids do champagne jewelry & clutches. Do what YOU like. It's YOUR wedding!!

My Wedding isn't til October of next year...but I have been seeing so many Brides wearing different bright colored shoes w/ their dresses! I have not attended many weddings or know any recent Brides..so I just thought usually you wear white,ivory,champagne,etc colored shoes. What is the norm for what colored shoes you should wear...is it to go w/ your colors of your wedding or your dress or whatever you choose?
