Let me preface this by saying that I realize a lot of Bees kinda hate this bridesmaids dress. But the girls like it and I needed a floor-length red gown that had some kind of shoulder covering (we’re a traditional Catholic family, it’s to be expected) — so, I’m really not asking about the dress.
Anyway, I was wondering what color tux is going to best compliment the girls’ dresses.

egrossheim: I would say black or charcoal because it’s such a vibrant red

I would choose charcoal. Black and red are such an extreme contrast.

egrossheim: I would definitely go with a black tux. That red is so vibrant and the dress itself is pretty formal so the guys need to match.

Stick with black and do NOT match the ties to that dress. Stick with black or white ties. Alterntatively a gray suit would look nice.

egrossheim: Black. I think the dress is beautiful.

Definitely grey over black. A grey suit can be just as formal, and it won’t look like your bridal party is going to prom.

I work at a Tuxedo/Formal shop, and have dressed many a mannequins for brides. Have the groomsmen wear a dark charcoal tuxedo with a matching material vest, so the jacket and vest is the same material. Then have them have black or red ties, and your groom in a white/ivory tie. I would suggest setting a tuxedo appointment and bring the dress with you. Don’t go to a chain, otherwise you won’t be able to dress up a mannequin and see examples. I would look at a store that has an in house inventory and that carries Jims Formal Wear. Most places should be able to order in examples for you to see, our store does it all the time.

Black. My bridesmaids wore red dresses and the groomsmen wore all black and everyone was telling us how great the bridal party looked.
