Okay, I’m considering dying my hair this color here in a few months. I’m a natural mousy blondish, brownish whatever you wanna call it. I dyed my hair a LOT as a teen (RED red, plat blonde, black, dark brown, purple). However, I am really not good at labeling hair color. For me, I would say “light brownish red” (which isn’t actually a color, as mousy blondish brownish is also not a real color), but the pin I found this with said “natural red”, another person called it “auburn”, yet another called it “medium copper”, another called it “light auburn”, then someone said “dark blonde and red” – yeah, the list goes on. Whenever I’ve dyed my hair in the past I’ve always just shown a picture to the hair dresser, said “I want this color, do what you need to do to my mane to get it close to this color” – but I really am curious as to what color this is. So what would YOU call this hair color? I’d really like to be able to look up other colors that are close to it, though without a name for the color it is proving difficult. (I can google most any shade of red and find similiar colors to this, as well as colors that look NOTHING like it, but are apparently the same color.)

MrsTtoB: lol! Googled “Light Auburn” and this is the second image result. (also googled “auburn” and realized it actually a reddish-brown color, so I guess I am in the auburn camp too!)

That’s the exact color of my BFs hair,,and she is a natural redhead. So I’d be temped to call it natural red auburn with highlights.

Tinatiny1: Hopefully that means this looks like a natural color. Which would be good… I want a more natural looking color. I don’t mind the not so naturals (having had purple and RED RED hair before), but I really want a natural look this go around.
molokoa: Bahahaha! We had brittanys growing up, and their spots looked a lot like this color too. I’m totally set on getting an Irish Setter now and being one of those owners who match their dog! (Throw back to 101 Dalmations window scene!)

Auburn or what about Copper?
Beautiful colour though

My hair has been that colour for years. If I’m using a box dye I go for something labeled as light auburn, or copper red. If it’s in the salon I say red with copper and no purple undertones
